I was skeptical of Squiers for years - wouldn't even give them time of day. But I sat down with this very model the other day at my local shop. Amazing quality, playability and sound for the money. I snapped it up. I have 2 Custom Shop guitars I'm thinking of selling now, and I can take this to the club and not worry too much it being stolen. A+ well done Fender Indonesia!

Yeah, they are generally good guitars but you need to try them. I was blown away by a telecaster that felt almost as good as a vintage Tele I own, but then I tried a mustang and apart from the setup all wrong felt like a dead stick. If the wood plays well, setup and electronic can be changed so for the price they are wonderful bargains.

Ok. I get it now. I also passed by them without even giving them a glance. Another post I had seen awhile back said same thing you posted. Looks like I at the least have to give it a try. There is a professional guitarist in Nashville Tennessee and that is his main ax. Well I'm heading to the local music store may as well bite the bullet.

On mine I had to do so much setup out of the box that I should have been up for employee of the month at the Cort factory; it really is a great guitar and has one of the most comfortable necks I’ve ever played. Eventually I’ll upgrade electronics and hardware, but I’m not in a hurry.

i bought one of these today it was up graded with vintage style kluson tuners, a staytrem bridge and the fixed trem that comes on the ben gibbard model (i’m not really into tremolos so it perfect for me) i’m really impressed i hear people complain about the gloss finish on the neck i really like it. i tried mustangs and jaguars the other day down denmark street thinking i would like the jaguar more and i really liked the mustang more.

I have the same guitar and it’s amazing. I did add a hot rail in the bridge but that’s it. One of the best playing guitars I’ve ever had. I have played some like this that didn’t feel like mine but maybe they just needed a good set up and also I should mention that mine stays in tune very well.

Had a lovely CV Mustang, bought and sold it for under £200. Liked the string tension, nice punchy sound and very playable. More recently I acquired a G&L Tribute Fallout super cheap - similar compact body shape to the Mustang but has a very nice P90 humbucker combination, amazing budget guitar. For me (a beginner) the Jaguar still has something special.

It’s A Great guitar if you get a good one. They vary from piece to piece. I too prefer the good ol’ vintage tuners, locking tuners do nothing except add weight where you don’t want it . Mine is 7lbs exactly , I hardtailed it as I think the trem is its weakest link. I put an aged pearloid guard and black pup covers along with black racing stripes and it looks and sounds awesome, especially the bridge pup. :)

I'm going to grab one also. Maybe, I'm heavily leaning towards the Guild Surfliner deluxe. It is not wired for out of phase option I think. Not sure. that's the only downside. I have been going back and forth for a few months now in my brain as to what I want. With all the tremolo issues with Jazz and Jags I imagine the same issues depending on what remolo system is on the Mustang because it seems they issued a few different ones.
