This guy was so ahead of his time. How do you think a prime Dominique would handle the modern NBA? NOTE: The first half of the script is from an older Dominique video, but the 2nd half is new, and he's now in the "How Good" series. Who would you like to see next?

Mark Price and Sidney Moncrief next... Nique would rank top 50 for sure, but not top 25-30 to me. Probably somewhere closer to 40.
@lainiwakura46785 жыл бұрын
Listen to some of Price's stats: Career 15/3/7 guy. Doesn't sound too impressive off hand. 47% FG, 40% 3 pt. FG, 90% FT. And averages were hurt from his last 3 years outside of Cleveland. Shot 49% from 3 in 88. 44% the next season in 89. 42% in 95, with 5 attempts per game, which was a lot back then, cuz of the short 3 pt. line that year. But as you can see the distance made no difference to him. In his prime he shot between 42-49% from 3. Imagine him in the modern era with more emphasis on the shot... Shot 95% from the foul line in back to back seasons (92 & 93). Criminally underrated player whose skill set would translate great to today's game.

When we’re talking about the all-time greats of basketball, I sometimes get that feeling that people under appreciate Dominique Wilkins. Wilkins may be regraded as one of the best dunkers in NBA history but he was more than just an amazing dunker. He was a nine-time All-Star, a member of seven All-NBA teams and the NBA’s scoring champion in 1986. He also is one of only eight players in NBA history to average at least 25 points per game for 10 consecutive seasons (the others was Jerry West, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant). .

Nique’s athleticism was so ahead of the times in the 80’s. You throw a young Nique in today’s NBA soft defensive rules, and he’d still be as elite if not more. An excellent jumping big man. 6’8” and a high riser. Also, had a serious motor: no one talks about this. Played every game and every time down the court (on offense) like it was his last. Was not a lock down defender as the Hawks didn’t play that kind of defense. Not many assists, not a lot of passing out of Dominique. These two things, the passing and the defense hurt his reputation as a player. He was seen as a gunner, a black hole, if you will. He was similar to Kobe in that way. I don’t see either player as selfish, they just both really believed in their abilities on the offensive end. Danny Ainge was right: he was and is Top 25. He was THAT good.

Dominique is the #1 most forgotten superstar in NBA history. He was a magician at getting open and scoring. I cannot understand it. Not top 50? Top 15 in my book.

dominique 10 year best stretch was never under 26 ppg and had 4 sesons with 29 plus and one with 28..he was one of the best scorers the game has ever seen exept the best two hands off the vertical dunker in traffic..he had 7 boards and somewhere close to 3 assists average for that stretch as well..

Dominique Wilkins is SOOO underrated it's insulting. He is definitely deserving of a top 5 SF spot. Guys like Bird, Lebron, Scottie, Nique and Dr. J. Probably my top 5

I followed Nique all the way thru U of Georgia to the NBA. Had his rookie poster. It had to be a frightening sight...seein Nique comin at you on a fast break. Big men just started gettin out of the way, because you cant stop him from dunking. Like Hip Hop, these kids missed the Golden Age. The 80s n 90s
