A ten year winning streak speaks for itself. The man fought like a keg of gunpowder and he was a unique blend of speed, power and balance. When watching his fights you had to pay attention at all times because at any moment he might explode into a blur of motion and end it. His amazing balance enabled him to pursue a retreating opponent and continue to land wicked strikes from all angles. Even when he was chasing was balanced. That balance also made him hard to take off his feet, and if someone tried to stand up and bang with him it looked like they were getting punched and kicked by a tornado. Aldo fought like the Tasmanian Devil. He's one of the greatest to ever enter the cage. Genki Sudo please!

@Lessons in Logic - and that doesn't mean Aldo didn't have a full training camp, since he was training for Ricardo Lamas when he got the news that he could switch to fighting Holloway again for the title and save the card. Max and Aldo were on the same level, both trained for someone else and got a rematch instead.
@randallflagg3700

@Lessons in Logic - Because OP sounds like he's saying the rematch wasn't fair, saying that Aldo was late replacement for Frankie... which would imply that Aldo had little time to train. In fact, Aldo also had a full training camp since he was preparing for Lamas.

@madgavin7568
@madgavin7568 Жыл бұрын
Aldo is the greatest (most accomplished) Featherweight of all time. However Volk is the best Featherweight of all time because put him against any Featherweight past or present, and he beats them. Prime Aldo vs current Volk, gotta favor Volk, he's too good.
@DivineNaruto
@DivineNaruto Жыл бұрын
@@madgavin7568 Prime Aldo is just as precise as Volk and he's definitely faster. Those leg kicks are dangerous and prime Aldo used them religiously unlike old Aldo. He also adjusts really good. I'd put prime Aldo over Volk but just barely.
@madgavin7568
@madgavin7568 Жыл бұрын
@@DivineNaruto All debatable honestly. Volk has clear advantages in footwork, fight IQ and feinting, he's the physically stronger fighter, he's got vastly superior cardio and I'd even go as far as to say he's the better MMA boxer. What's more, we saw what happened when they fought; Volk froze Aldo with feints and erratic movement, he completely shut him down. I don't care if its past-form Aldo or whatnot, any version of Aldo gets confused by what Volk did against him. I will concede Aldo has an advantage in explosive athleticism, granting him his power and a slight speed advantage. But those can't compensate for not having the fight IQ or execution of game-plans Volk does in his fights. Aldo can adjust yes, but so can Volk and he's normally several steps ahead of his opponents in that regard.

One of the all time greats. To me, he is a b-tier GOAT like Cruz, perhaps just short of top 3-5's like DJ, GSP, Jones, Silva, although you could argue if Silva is allowed his big loss streak and his prime self is considered a GOAT of GOAT's, I still think there's possibly room for Aldo's prime there, especially given he had more successes post prime than Silva. That Khabib is routinely placed in GOAT conversations over Aldo even being mentioned is a crime.
