Good video. I feel more respect towards Micah. He was more talented than I really remember. He peaked so young in the game. Sad what injuries can do to stunt talent. Imagine a world where Ronaldo suffered all these injuries and was done by 31

Most people make fun of him and don't take him seriously because the guy doesn't have a big ego and doesn't take himself too seriously and just wants to have fun. But he was an ELITE talent back in the day. He was an undisputed starter for City when they won the league in 2012, while they had Zabaleta on the bench. Was a starter for them since he was a teenager. But after that season the unjuries completely ruined him and most didn't have a clue how good he was before.

Kyle Walker. That's the potential Richards had. Simliar style, physically dominant. Stronger and bigger than Walker, not as fast, but still very fast before the injuries. Weirdly skilled and a good dribbler for such a big guy. He was regularly making good runs down the flank and getting past people one on one. Most forgot or dont't know he was actually one of the best RBs in the league around 2008-2012, and was keeping Zabaleta on the bench, before the injuries started. Btw, this video makes it look like he competed with Zabaleta for the spot in the starting XI. As far as I remember Richards was as sure starter as long as he was fit and was only out of the team when he was injured. Zabaleta wasn'r a threath to Richards before he lost his athleticism around 2013. You could say Zabaleta was maybe a bit overlooked because he was pure class since he broke into the starting XI and is one of the best RB I've ever seen in the PL.

The man won the premier league and FA cup and played for his country he was a great player. They “make fun of him” because he is with one of the greatest players of all time in Thierry Henry and Jamie carragher’s pedigree is outstanding as well

The biggest reason people make fun of him is because he doesn't take himself too seriously and is a bit of a goof, but it doesn't say anything about his ability as a footballer. It says more about thise people and how they are thinking. He was an ELITE talent and already one of the best RBs in the league, up until the injuries started around 2013 and he was never the same after those.

@@gabrielcesar2388 even as a non City fan I liked to watch him too. Was quite exciting to see a guy with a physique of a rugby player bombing down the flank with great pace, beating people one on one and often creating chances and making assists. As the video says, had the most assists as a defender in 2012 PL, even though he missed quite a few games that season because of the injuries.

This is a really good video, and it really explains him well at the end both as a player and as a pundit (as a person too). It's very good it's highlighted how his career basically ended in 2012, while being 25. Most havent't even watched him before that, they only know he was an ex City player, maybe they catched the ghost of him (not even 20% what he was before the injuries) while he was at Villa, and they think they know him as a player.

I saw him playing when he was only 5 or 6 years old, playing football in local school yard in Leeds, I told his older brother that Micah had magic in his feet, he had massive skill and talent. I knew he would be a very good professional player, even then.
@siberianTiger6393 ай бұрын
This. He was acually impressive in his runs down that right flank and actually a very good dribble. Was awesome seeung such a big guy, who was built like a rugby player, dribbling so well at that pace.

You have no clue and you are simply a liar because you are talking about something you know nothing about. He lost his legs already around 2013, while he was only, 25. And that was only because of the injuries. Obviously that killed him as a player because he mostly based his game on incredible athleticim, just as Kyle Walker. He had the same potential.
