As a magic fan, this hurts a lot. Two consecutive years, we had a chance to win or tie the game to move to the 2nd round. Two consecutive years, T-Mac had the ball for the final shot. Two consecutive years, Baron Davis stripped the ball as T-Mac pulled up to take a jumper.

You know what got me into loving the NBA? I remember getting NBA live 07, with TMac on the cover. The game had these highlights of NBA players, and one them was those legendary 13 points against the spurs. And for me, this was before having easy access to the internet, so those highlights were all i was able to get my hands on. I remember watching that so many times!!! I've never seen something that ridiculous before! From then on i was a basketball fan, mostly because of TMac, that's why he's one of my favs! It's a shame he had a short career :(

He had Doc Rivers who now blew three 3-1 leads. And GHill and Yao both were perpetually injured. If Kobe had a 60% Shaq and/or Pau, Kobe would have been denigrated like Tmac. i remember when i was in i think elementary school and i had a really long phase of loving basketball and dont get me wrong i still do love the game but man i always loved T-Mac dude was an absolute beast and was definitely in my top ten favorite players, also for some reason really liked his name, very iconic probably one of the coolest sounding names in the game i think...anyways yeah T-Mac was awesome loved him - kinda wish he had a chance to get traded to either the Heat or the Lakers that woulda been game over back then I think...

TMAC in my opinion was one of the greatest of all-time. Definitely a fan favorite in my generation. I remember at one point NBA Elite Players were Kobe Bryant, Shaq, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Vince Carter, Tracy Mcgrady, Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd.

I picked up the game kinda late. I wrestled until about 7th grade. I got a bit taller then, so I wanted to give it a try. I was pretty average through high-school. I was young for my grade, so right after senior year I went from about 5'11 to 6'3 in my shoes. When I got to college I just got extra obsessed cause I didn't have my other two sports anymore. i played damn near every day at the rec. An older black fellow that was always there playing started seeing how I was coming along. He chatted up everybody. He saw how I dribbled with both hands and even the shorter guys would start letting me run the point after a couple trips down when they saw how i handled. I started going mean to the hole, started using this crazy pull up where I just went as high as I could where most people couldn't get a contest to it. I got some shot blocking going. One of the closest thing too was that crazy behind the back pass to the post. The older guy gave me the nickname White Tmac and it caught on cause people thought it was kinda funny but true. Definately shrinking it down to the rec level, but I was still super proud of that cause if people saw anyyyything like this man they are saying you too tall and too smooth.

I feel like Dame Lilliard carrying the TrailBlazers reminds me of a prime T-Mac carrying the Magic on his back and not getting to the NBA finals until the end of his career as a role player on the Spurs. But I hope Dame can get a ring before he retires but don't see Dame winning a chip in Portland 🤔🏆

T-mac use to be one of my favorite players, not for his entire career, but during some of his Houston Rockets years. Sure he earned millions of dollars from the Nba, has a family and an overall respectable life, but I still feel bad for him going through serious injuries during his career, and losing in the 1st round too much.

I went to that game 5 2003 1st round game T-Mac @ Detroit. The palace was sold out and insane that nite. The pistons used their best impressions of the jordan rules to shut McGradys water off and it worked bigtime. Chauncey Billups scored 79 combined points in game 6 and 7 combined and the pistons blew the magic out 3 straight games.
