Absolutely brilliant video, i just discovered your channel and it's so underrated. As a german Chelsea fan since the days as Frank Lampard as coach i really had to dig deep in Chelsea's history to understand the culture and controversies about Chelsea, the biggest we're seeing right now in 2022. Abramovich improved Chelsea's standards by a mile, but we had spells of some years at the top of English football in the early to mid 50's, early 60s until the mid 70s and mid 90s until pre 2003, interrupted by relegations and average results. It's been a rollercoaster ride and i love Chelsea, maybe you could make some more Chelsea related videos

Hi Johannes. Thanks alot for the comment, and checking out my channel. It really means alot. Yeah to be honest, this is the video that I enjoyed the most making it. Older Chelsea fans will tell you how much they've gone through during the 80's 😀😀 I really hope Chelsea comes out of the current situation without any harm. Hope you get an owner that has the club's best interests. Thank you for your comment. Really appreciate it. Really enjoyed reading it. 🙏🙏

Ah yes... Chelsea do have a history with Italians. That's how my friend, who supports Italy, started following Chelsea as a kid, because there were several Italians in the 90s like Vialli, Zola, Di Matteo, Casiraghi, etc. I think being a London club helps in their appeal too.
@FootballDrawn2 жыл бұрын
Yep...That's what made me have a soft spot for them in the late 90's/early 2000's. It also helped that my Milan gave them a few players at the end of their careers (George Weah, Marcel Desailly), although they returned the favor much later as well (Essien, Torres, Alex). Safe to say Chelsea got the better end of the deals 😀😀

I think you are going to do a similar video about Manchester City. Inevitably. I would like this series. Generally, it is interesting how some clubs/leagues work with their club administration rules. Recently tifo uploaded a video about who owns Barcelona.

I also like the idea of having some quick looks at some specific periods of various clubs' histories. Like the galacticos that were mentioned here. It's like special editions of a club that have their own history within the club's broader history and within football history in general.

Hahahaa....as soon as I made that sketch, I knew I had to make a video about Real Madrid's first galacticos. Maybe an objective view of why the first galacticos era wasn't as successful as it was intended to be. Let's see how that script will come about.
@nektarioss3 жыл бұрын
@@FootballDrawn oh! Well, in case you do present us a video about "Galacticos unsuccessful experiment" let's call it... I think those who were living this era (I am a liiitle bit younger, I was a kid though and I didn't live and breathe football at that time) might argue that the reason it failed was Makelele's departure. (A player who I remember as a Chelsea player! What a coincidence! -or not...)

Chelsea did it in a much moral way then Man City or PSG ever attempted to do look at last 5 years player sales revenue to get a start to see why.
@FootballDrawn2 жыл бұрын
One thing I appreciated in Chelsea, when Abramovich took over, was that they didn't hide behind fake sponsorships and stuff. Chelsea were like "Yep...we have a sugar daddy, and we're gonna come and get you". Obviously, back then, there wasn't FFP, but Chelsea didn't hide behind fake sponsorships, and eventually adapted to a more self-sustaining model. I don't know what will happen to City or PSG, if their owners leave
@Freestyle802 жыл бұрын
@@FootballDrawn not to mentioned i'd love to have Abramovich as an owner at my own club that i support (i go for Milan too since 2006ish :) ) He used to go to every home game before his visa issues, and every quarter/semi-final game he would attend no matter what, can be no denying it was a passion project for him not just a plaything and he left them being able to be self-sustained.

@FootballDrawn3 жыл бұрын
I think they're the most "safe" choice, along with City. Most others are in a weird transition era, but who knows. This could really be interesting. I feel like this year could be a surprise. Maybe a team that's been in turmoil for the first half of season, the way Chelsea were last year at this point. Who knows...maybe a troubled team like Juve or United? 😀😀
@TheBlueAndWhiteGashead4 күн бұрын
Chelsea i'd consider a semi-big club before 2003, similar level to Leeds United, but they'd 100% not be the big club they are without aubromovic, same with City without the Emirati's takeover in 2008
@FootballDrawn4 күн бұрын
Thank you sooo much for the comment. Really appreciate it. Yeah absolutely. While they were a cup-team back in the day, without Abramovich's takeover, we wouldn't know where the Chelsea would've been. It would be one of those "What if..." scenarios, if Abramovich didn't invest.

Man United, the coping is insane with some of them. Arsenal is up there, and this is from a gooner, some of the guys here are too impatient, too emotional, and are setting their expectations too high. Chelsea are like United, they are coping like crazy and they glaze up their players too much when they are on a good run of form. Idk if they is a group of fans who are distinctly annoying. It’s exaggerated with some of rivals, but it’s also has some true

Hi dude...Thank you for the comment. Really appreciate it 🙏🙏 Yeah, indeed. Money plays a big role in how a club ascends to a whole different level, and I say that as a Milan fan, who was bankrolled by a sugerdaddy in the late 80's from bankruptcy, although we actually DID have history before that as well 😀😀 But I also do think that the money spending in general has gone out of control in the game, and the Neymar transfer certainly didn't help either by doubling the previous record. Thanks for watching, and the comment. Really appreciate it 🙏
