I have a Silverado ZR2 Bison with an Alu-Cabin and getting Goose Gear was clearly the right call for us. We did this build this spring around the time Goose Gear was moving from CA to CO (if I understand the story correctly). We were trying to hit a particular date for a camping trip to CO and the guys at Expedition Superstore in SLC (whom I’d also highly recommend) were clearly super-stressed that the Goose Gear was not going to arrive on time. In the end, they told me the “owner” actually loaded everything into the shop truck and drove it himself from the factory in CO to SLC. If that was actually you, Brian, many thanks (and, of course, if not you, many thanks to whomever made the drive! We made our trip and couldn’t be happier with the Goose Gear. We’re about to head to CA for another trip on Tuesday and still haven’t figured out how to use all the storage. Honestly, if you’re thinking about Goose Gear and your budget allows - I wouldn’t hesitate going with Goose Gear.

Man this was such a great interview!!! Thanks Brad for sharing Brian's story. Such a good guy and one of the best in the Overlanding community! The quality of @goosegear is second to none and I have seen it installed and used on Defenders, Broncos, Jeeps and Grenadiers! 👍

Yep. More of these please. Great stories and inspiration. I liked the walking/talking format, specifically the changing background of Overland Expo kept the interview fresh the whole time. It was like combination great/inspirational stories with a tour of Overland Expo. Really packed a lot of great content into the video.

Great interview with Brian! Love to see more owner operator interviews in the future. Viewers often only see the finished product and really don't understand the blood sweat and tears that goes into starting a compay or bringing a product to market. It is far more than the sum of the parts. Great job Brad!

Great interview and finding out about the history of these companies. I was a corporate guy and business owner before retirement so it’s nice to show that it’s not all roses and rainbows as an entrepreneur in this competitive space. As I start to build my GX in SoCal I really liked Goose Gear. Nice to know he was a SoCal guy. Thanks for the interview.

I made it to the Overland Expo in Loveland! Had a really good time and talked to a lot of off-road enthusiasts. Wish I could have met you. Decided to do a few days of backroad driving and camping on the way home. Phantom Canyon Rd and Shelf Rd are fun drives with great views.

Thanks Brad and like Brian said it is expensive but extremely well done. He’s right about the JKU I built ours with a ARB refrigerator slide and a storage door for underneath in the jack area. Just plywood picking up the mount holes but still took me a few days. Great interview and he might need a sales person to help sell the gear or a project manager to help run the company.

Get it down here in OZ Brian! Great gear. Perfect for Landcruiser 70 series and 300s. Nothing wrong with the mid 250 (our Prado) in the US of course. They're awesome and so versatile. But they ain't the apex of the genus. Goose Gear durability is an excellent match to the fail-safe quality demanded of 'no-hiking-out' remote travel in Australia and Africa. Everything must be over-engineered. Twice. You'll do really well, I reckon. I'm a customer waiting to happen...so there's one sale! Thanks for the vid Brad!

Like many people, I have always been shocked by how high the prices for goose gear have been. I have never said very much about this since I didn’t know their overhead, materials, employees costs, etc. Now that he says they have always been in Southern California, I am betting that has been a big part of causing the prices to appear to be high.

Gosh I love their products too. Clearly thoughtfully designed with great components and precision accuracy and finish. However at $1600 for ONE drawer I would have to put real adventures and experiences on hold. I’m looking at some other solutions that are also lightweight and can outfit the entirety of my cargo areas for the price of just one drawer from Goose.

Great video! Would love to get some Goose Gear in our rig. Hey Brad, I think we crossed paths yesterday at Coyote Flat Trail, near Bishop? We were in a yellow 2 door jeep (like Regina’s) pulling a red teardrop trailer. Your party let us pass by. After we passed I told my husband, “Hey, I think that’s Brad!”

This was a very interesting video & kept my attention the whole time. Maybe because I want to eventually install Goose Gear in my new Jeep Wrangler for overlanding, but I liked how y'all continually walked for this video. Kuddos to the camera man or woman that recorded y'all doing this video without tripping & falling. Unless y'all edited that out🤣. Anyway, this video was awesome that kept my ADHD brain intrigued & I watched it until the end without skipping parts or stopping it all together.

I’ve had several different kits from Goose Gear over the years(full bed buildout on a Tacoma Wedge Camper, rear seat deletes,etc). All were of the highest quality craftsmanship and engineering. With my current Jeep, I decided to give it a go at designing and building my own Goose Gear clone using most of the same design language and materials. Now that my own rear seat delete is almost finished(still installing the electronics), I can say that for the next vehicle I will just be returning to a Goose Gear customer. I’ve spent over 40 hours in design(no CAD just hand drawn), sourcing materials, fabrication and finish work and I still couldn’t match the quality of Goose Gear. And I am Damn Proud of what I’ve managed to make for myself. Goose Gear, simple stated, makes a high quality product that is well engineered and will stand the test of time.

Would never own anything from them, they are WAY over priced. So many others out there realize this and make the same quality for less. It gets old the prices of things just because they can.
@aroundthenw4 ай бұрын
This has been debunked online. If you have a discounted source for the materials and already have the proper tools as well as a high-quality protective spray coating system, then maybe. And that doesn't account for the time to make the templates, test fit, and so on (time is money also). If you don't have any of the above, then the cost is affordable for the product you receive, and most of their products can be installed within an hour to a day depending on the product, again time is money.

I just wish they would make their stuff out of materials that wont ever rot... I just don't understand the price to materials. yes it's quality I just don't logically understand the wood choice personally.
