In 1936, Don Prudencio Unanue Ortiz and his wife Carolina Casal de Valdes, migrated to Puerto Rico from Spain, founded Goya after purchasing a Moroccan sardine company for $1 in a Lower Manhattan storefront.

Right generic if you click on the profile pics. The comments are all the same just slightly modified to add the subject of the video

I never even knew about Goya before all the political fluff. But it got me curious so I tried their Sazon seasoning on my rice. WOWOWOW it’s good! I’ll be buying much more in the future.

Man, all of that is crazy! But I can't get over the fact that the name itself was bought for a buck...and was associated with sardines! Nuts!

The Goya story should be a lesson of one Ultimate lesson "Never mix business with politics". You're customers is everyone not one ideology, social class, race, religion etc. If you have any political leanings since everyone has you need to really keep it close to your chest. There is a reason I keep hearing big companies tend to make their political donations through shell companies in truth most donate to both sides just to be in their good side no matter who is in office or out.

A lot of companies are learning this the hard way, like Bud Light and Harley Davidson. Keep political indoctrination out of employee training too!

I never bought Goya not just because of the political controversy, but their food is harming my community. Let’s talk about it: Malta: High fructose corn syrup (one way ticket to diabetes) Guanábana: High fructose corn syrup (again, diabetes) and POUNDS of artificial white sugar (brain deterioration) Passion fruit juice: Liquid inverted sugar (what even is that?!) Sazón: MSG and food colorings (THESE ARE NOT EVEN SEASONINGS!!!)

You people praising this brand have bad taste. Goya is so generic; it's like they can't make up their mind on if they're going to specialize in Mexican, Salvadoran, Colombian, etc etc food. They're a jack of all trades master of none. I'm gonna stick to Herdez, La Costeña, Chata et al. At least they're actual brands sold in Mexico.
