I have seen a number of explanations about GPS. But none is closer to yours. Because you include the sphere and explain the need for the input from the 4th satellite. You also mentioned the need introduce "errors" in one atomic clock to synchronise. A similar concept is used in COSPAS-SARSAT to figure out the location of vessels or aircraft using the gravity variation of atomic clocks in the initial stages. I could understand the Doppler use in that system but not the use of the difference in timings. Your explanation is simple, yet good enough to explain a difficult concept to common people like me. You did all these in a short video. You are really great.

You are fixing time correction for the launch day alone but not for the subsequent days. If you considering the reset of a 38ms delay every midnight, that's wrong too.. the delay is a continuous process not an abrupt one so through out the day there will be some error. Hence the error cannot be corrected at the atomic clocks but at the GPS receiver module which always either adds to or subtracts from the received time coordinates from the intersecting three spheres and coincides itself with the atomic clocks' time. That is how both Special and General theories of relativity are applied to have Most Probable Position (MPP) and DoP Dilution of Position measures. All in all a good video and a wonderful initiative. Being a Telugu guy with just working knowledge of Tamil from university days I was able to understand the whole video. Nice work guys

I feel this generation students are gifted to get such lessons through internet. In our time what class teacher says is everything & he can't even explain gravity. All they did was write formulas on board and asked us to mug up and write in exam. I can flawlessly do that.. Law of conservation of energy Law of conservation of linear momentum Law of diffusion etc etc. No one at that time know what & why these laws are created.. & no one questioned too. So we accepted that this is way things are... so we should mug up things and write in exam. Also these lessons are within the reach of common man. A jio subscription of 5Rs per day can give such access to them.
