Thank you for making this video. I have a grape vine in my backyard. I was afraid when it started to flower 🌸 that we wouldn’t ever get any grapes! We planted this 3 summers ago! I’m very excited for the smell you mentioned. I hope our are as fragrant as your Chardonnay 😊

How do you keep beetles off yours anf what do you Fertilize with and when? I'm just starting like 6 vines lol but I don't see how yall get them up so high... I never know what to cut lol

I fertilize them with compost and chicken manure. I get healthy vines with lots of fruit this way.

@saadpost Grapevines are self pollinating. All those flowers are “perfect” - meaning both male and female parts are there and they are in very close proximity to one another. No need for two separate plants.

I had bud clusters all over my vine and now nothing? Same last year, vine is now 4-5 years old and growing on a vinyl coated chain link fence ... never had grapes, any help?

I don't think it was deer as it was just at the "fuzzy cluster" stage and then nothing. All I know is they are seedless.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot, got a new problem now though. The neighbor is babysitting 3 horses and they have eaten of all the new growth on the vine ... I just can't win.

@@davidcook3368 I know I'm a bit late to the party. But, try spraying the plants with chilli water... Just boil-up some dried chillies in water put the water in a spray gun and douse the plants. This is cheap and effective on rabbits and pigeons...so might work with houses?

Jordan I put in grape plants last year and Im kind of worried about them they only grew about six inches, can you tell me what to feed them?

Brenda Lebtich nine only grew a few inches the first year. But the second year was OMG 😊

Absolutely Self pollinating.

@ezekielalanis Nearly all grapevines are hermaphroditic and will self-pollenate. A single vine is typically capable of self-pollenation and should bear fruit just fine, provided it's healthy and properly cared for.

@DeviantEquine Grapevines are dormant during winter, so they are unharmed by freezing temperatures and rain during that time period. Once the buds break in late March, then they could be affected.
