He never thought of replacing Freddie. He knew he was not Freddie and he didn't have to be. Queen was very lucky to have Adam to carry on the musical legacy and attract more new blood. And for Adam, meeting Queen had a significant positive impact on his musical development. He also changed his singing technique. For more than twelve years, QAL has toured almost 300 shows, and every show is of extremely high quality. This is a very crazy and amazing achievement. Adam Lambert has been bringing unparalleled excitement to the world since the American Idol period. Please consider watching his performance on American Idol, or his other personal live performances, and his performances with Queen. None of them disappoints. I was stunned when I found out that there is such an outstanding musical artist who is far from getting the fame he deserves. In my country, there is a proverb that says that a pearl is covered in dust. He is such a rare treasure in my opinion, and I really hope that more people can calm down, put aside their prejudices, and feel such excellent and pure singing.

The bass player is Neil Fairclough who has been playing with them since John Deacon left the band after Freddie died. I have seen Queen with Adam Lambert 6 times in concert. It is an amazing 2+ hour show from start to finish, Roger Taylor and Brian May still play the way they always did, it is amazing to witness. What Adam Lambert brings to Queen, brings all kinds of newer generations to hear Queen who wouldn't have otherwise done it. And, absolutely NO BACKING TRACKS, the harmonies with which they sing are all live too!!

I am an OLD Queen fan. I have seen them with Freddie several times and I have to say I love this new era. I have seen them with Adam and they are still amazing and no it is not Freddie but it is just as good if not better. Their I said it. I love, love that Roger and Brian can keep this music alive and introduce it to new generations. This last tour we saw so many generations of audience members from us oldesters to little kids. It was a fun time for all. No backing tracks.....just totally live. Neil Fairclough is the base player he plays with Spikes band as well.

I agree, I’m old enough to have seen them with Freddie and 7 times with Adam, and it’s great that they can keep their legacy alive. I was at the IOW festival for this performance and it was mesmerising. A lot of the audience didn’t know Adam and he quickly had them in the palm of his hand. The audience was huge 50,000ish - we couldn’t move for 10-15 minutes at the end. I was also there the next year and we walked away from Arcade Fire.

Watch Adam sing Whole Lotta Love on American Idol. Queen's keyboard player, Spike Edney, saw it and immediately called Brian and Roger who went on American Idol for the finale. No backing tracks. Roger's son, Rufus, played with them before joining The Darkness. There are concerts where Roger and Rufus would have drumming battles. You're right, Adam is classically trained. As a musician and instrumentalist, Lambert is more interesting to me tham anyone else. I've been shocked since l first heard at the Rio Festival. This guy has a complete packege: a powerful voice, looks, magnetism and audacity. I've said all along that Adam's vocals are something very different. If you watch his throat and neck you see next to no movement or veins popping out. He was born with something very different in terms of his vocal cords, in addition to hitting those high notes, he has such power and control, he's just unbelievable. In February of this year, l was lucky enough to listen to them in Tokyo - Lambert's voice got even betterkzbin.info/www/bejne/apvcY2WCbtCcZ9ksi=LYGbBT5N6dELaOxc

Adam Lambert is amazing. Another GOAT is John Farnham (Australian) who Freddie Mercury wanted to replace him, but John didn't want to live anywhere than Australia, his family coming first. Anything performed LIVE by John Farnham is brilliant. You would be blown away to see John's (slower) version of The Beatles' Help; performed at the Chain Reaction concert, recorded on 14th (or 15th) December, 1990 at Flinders Park Tennis Stadium concert. There are too many of his performances to list; anything by John will not disappoint, he always delivers over and above. The Aussies will flock to your channel to see 'Our John'....

Why should the other guys in Queen give up their legacies and not continue to play Queen music because Freddie died in 1991? The rest of the guys were still quite young. I would be willing to bet that Freddie would want them to keep Queen alive. Of course, they'd need a singer and Adam is a great fit without trying to be Freddie at all. He never could be, and he knows it. Instead of people dismissing Adam, they should be grateful to still have "Queen" playing all of these years.

@@msunderstood1100 I know this will sound like I’m contradicting myself, but I’m not actually: I SHOULD have also said that YESSS…. I completely AGREE that Brian and Roger SHOULD be able to continue playing live shows for fans, for as long as possible. (I DID say that I was only expressing my own feelings, and that I did NOT wish to “take away from” what makes other folks happy.) THE ONLY THING that bothers me (and this is EXACTLY what I stated): Is when I see reactors play ONLY videos of Queen+AL… INSTEAD OF videos of Freddie’s original performances. AS A MATTER OF FACT…. In an IDEAL world, reactors would honor Fred by playing his live performances, and ALSO play a performance by Adam. …AND ALSO a performance by Marc Martel. (Since Marc’s Queen Extravaganza show, IS officially endorsed by Queen and is included on Queen’s official website; and Marc is the vocalist who was featured in-combination-with-Freddie, in the Bohemian Rhapsody film.)

Re guitar hasn't changed, I'm not a guitarist but I would think if you're a shredder and have a fast finger playing style in your younger years, your speed would reduce with age. May's overlays in the studio were complicated but based on simple melodies, his 4 part delay in some solo sections also gave the illusion of speed. I think he's still able to do it because he wrote simple melodies, as far as the sound goes, it's the same unique guitar himself and his Dad built. However I am a singer, and I thought Lambert was ok, yes he's hitting the high notes perfectly and holding them longer than Freddie could (past his partying 30's). I just think he brings the wrong 'theatrical' vibe. Lambert's theatrical training is more Broadway 'Musical', it can be heard in his vocal 'ad-libs' which jars it for me personally. I seen Mercury twice in his prime, 3 hr sets, unreal. His vocal training was his own, natural, more Opera than musical but heavily based on rock. I believe Mercury when he's singing the lyrics.

I honestly appreciate Adam’s talent as a vocalist, and I enjoy watching/listening to him perform his OWN material… but, I will NEVER choose listening to anyone OTHER than Freddie, sing Queen’s music.🙏 (This is just my own personal preference and feeling; I’m not in-any-way, putting down other people’s choices or what makes them happy.) The only thing that “concerns” me, is if reactors start only watching the covers of Queen’s songs, INSTEAD of Freddie’s renditions. (Which… Adam’s performances are a cover; as are Marc Martel’s; as are ANYONE else’s, other than Freddie.) Due to this “concern”, I feel I need to UNsubscribe to channels if they play “non-Freddie” vocalists of Queen songs, over/instead-of the original.

You are very fortunate, then, to have so many performance videos and interviews, plus your own discography to watch/listen to. That way, you never have to watch anybody else perform these songs. However, QAL has exposed new generations of fans to the wonderful music of Queen, and millions of happy concert goers were able to experience this music live. As such, many of them will probably find Queen (with Freddie) performances which they might have otherwise missed.

@@lstapes7 You are completely RIGHT. I should’ve also said that I actually think it’s WONDERFUL that Brian and Roger are still performing. (I’m sorry it sounds like I’m contradicting myself… I’m not actually, I just didn’t take the time to also say this.) What I SPECIFICALLY SAID, though, is just that it bothers me when reactors play videos of Queen+AL to the EXCLUSION OF original videos of Freddie’s performances. In an IDEAL WORLD, it would actually be GREAT if reactors would play: Original performances by Freddie, A performance by Adam, AND ALSO a performance by Marc Martel. (Since Marc’s Queen Extravaganza show IS officially endorsed by Queen, and (I think everyone knows?) Marc was the vocalist featured in-combination-with-Freddie, in the Bohemian Rhapsody film… which obviously has had a huge hand as well, in bringing Queen music to new audiences.)🖖

Tom Chaplin with Queen is better in my opinion

Sorry but Tom Chaplin is a huge Adam fan. Tom said in an interview that Adam voice is so powerful he can feel it in his bones. Tom really admire Adam. So why Queen would play with a singer who knows that Adam is better than him?

@@erikagolcher1353 I guess you’re an Adam fan or a Troll. You do know that Freddiedid an Elvis impersonation for crazy little thing called love. Ans let’s face it Adam isn’t the greatest singing in the world he just changes the vibe and does it his way . Your comment was just Trolism. They should still check out Marc’s videos but code they’re still remarkable.

Eddie Vedder There’s probably more but I don’t rate a singer on tis range or his ability to out power others vocalists. Great singers make you feel something you can identify with Now I think Adam is a greet singer he really is great but I just don’t get the same vibes from him as other singers do. It’s like listening to the most perfect performance created by a machine that’s flawed cos it doesn’t have soul. So there ya go Adam is truly great but he’s not the greatest. The greatest singer in the world is whoever makes you feel alive the most… and for me it just ain’t Adam and I like him!
