Gymshark is a very fickle business. Yes its a great British success story. But everyone is selling gym wear clothes, and many of their early influencers started their own brands that generated millions which proved that it was a bit of a fad. In shorts its become a very generic, and even boring space to be in as the hype has worn off. Going to the gym has become fully normalised and no longer makes you part of some exclusive community. To top it off people can now easily buy garments direct from China (where all of these products are manufactured) which is why Gymshark annual profits are getting worse, so there is a real, existential risk in the future as people grow out of the brand. The question is if gymshark can actually do more than just peddling the same gym clothes, such as creating world class equipment, pivot into actual sportswear, or become a brand with a more environmentally friendly mission that resonates. Bit surprised that the future of the brand wasn't discussed.
