The difficulty of endless depends largely on the world. Basically the further on you go, as in the higher the level, the earlier more Zombies at once and more dangerous Zombies will spawn, and that happens much sooner in harder worlds. For instance Pirate Seas and Wild West take a while to be challenging at all, whereas Neon Mixtape Tour and Modern Day get hard very quickly. Matter of fact Greatest Hits and Highway to the Danger Room can get pretty insane...

I've had 5 gargs appear as the first wave of zombies before level 20 in GH. Then on level 5 I had a portal appear before a lawnmower in HttDR. Dark Ages one at that.

Yep endless get really insane later on. Modern day, neon mixtape tour, jurasic marsh and big wave beach are the hardest because they can spam some really nasty zombies (or dinos)

If I'm not mistaken, Neon Mixtape Tour's endless can send multiple Gargantuars at the start of a level if their song is playing.

Things to note about endless zones: - In later levels there is only one plant food per flag. - Levels that start with imps make waves come out faster (FBC and Lost City) It's worse when those imps come from worlds with zombie-beneficial gimmicks like jams, dinosaurs, and portals. - If you're not prepared the early wave sandstorms can fuck you up. - Only imps appear from ambushes like Low Tide and Necromancy. - Once you lose those lawnmowers you're not getting them back unless you get them from a card. - You can get powerups and once you've ran out of plants to pick you can farm powerups. This is one of the only ways to get more for free. But the issue is that's the only reward anyone gets from endless zones.

Endless can actually be easier. On the "Select your seeds!" screen, you can go to the zen garden (Bet you forgot that existed, huh?) then back, and it randomizes the zombies again. So theoretically, you could do it till you don't get any Gargantuars, Octos, etc.

Just cause I feel like it, here's an overview of the Endless Zones difficulty in my opinion AE : Can actually get challenging despite what you experienced, but unfortunately it and most of the other easier worlds struggle with the fact they only really get difficult after like lvl 50-60. The challenge here can mostly come from very early Sandstorm Zombies, which during higher levels can sometimes spawn as early as the second Zombie and reach up to the 3rd-4th column, potentially making the early game quite dangerous. No particular Zombie is threatening though. PS: The lack of Planks means you never have to defend full 5 lanes which makes it one of the easiest by far. Early Raiding Party can be somewhat annoying but that's about it. WW: You always have to be prepared for Chickens, especially when they spawn early and the Minecarts can get in your way sometimes but overall pretty easy. FC: Early Snowstorms can be dangerous, Weasels and annoying Ice Floe placements can cause trouble, on top of the fact you will eventually be pretty much forced to use Fire Plants to protect against the frost, of which there are not that many, but overall not that hard. LC: Facing Excavator and Parasol will force you to adjust your set-up accordingly and early Bugs and Parachute Rain can be annoying, but the weakness of this world is that none of the Zombies are particularly bulky. Really the biggest threat is Relic Hunter Spam, due to how far they can swing. FF: None of the Zombies are particularly fast, which can make it quite easy, especially with the main gimmick Power Tiles working entirely in your favor. However eventually the game will spawn so many Gargantuar Primes that your lawn will just be covered in lasers, which can destroy your set-up in seconds if you're not careful. One of the only times where Intensive Carrot can be quite effective. DA: Wizards are off course very threatening and Jesters limit your effective options, but thankfully Necromancy ambushes only spawn Imps and there aren't that many different Zombies generally. NMT: Now this one...is easily one of the absolute hardest. This is where the real shit begins. Basically the Jam soon starts to change immediately at the start of the level and brings the corresponding Zombie along with it. This makes it the only Endless Zone that can legit start you off with a Gargantuar or even several in a row if you start with the Metal Jam, which off course given they also have a ranged attack makes set-up extremely difficult. Thankfully nothing else is all that bulky so the correct set-up can make some levels really easy depending on your luck with the Jams. JM: Dino spam. As annoying as it sounds. Early Jurassic Imps can also limit your set-up time. BWB: Pretty much what you'd expect. Octo spam, Surfers the tide and water area varying can severely limit your space at times. MD: Finally, Modern Day is easily one of the two hardest. While I think it would be more interesting if random Zombies from all worlds could spawn normally, that doesn't happen, however you do get portals. The further you go, the earlier portals can spawn, and they off course can move your plants if they spawn on that space and spawn Zombies quite close to your defense. Each World only spawns three types of Zombies, making some portals more harmless then other but specific Zombies can ruin your day in a matter of seconds, the danger off course also being that you don't know what'll spawn. During the first levels, only harmless stuff like Ra Zombie or Dodos will spawn and much more dangerous stuff appears later on. Explorer, Barrel and Pianist Zombies can spawn in and instantly destroy a plant, Chickens and Weasels off course require planning, as well as Excavator and Jesters given how they counter specific defenses, Surfer can remove plantable space in the middle of the lawn, Octo and Wizard are off course a pain and Boombox Zombie, due to how far ahead the portals can spawn, can immobilize your entire lawn in an instant allowing stronger Zombies to slip in and rip massive holes in the defense, especially if several NMT portals appear and Boombox Zombies start chaining their music. Finally All-Star Spam can become overwhelming ridiculously quickly due to their speed + the fact every single one always destroys one plant on impact or damages walls. Lots to look out for in this one. But again, a lot of the real difficulty unfortunately only comes after playing for quite a while

I honestly think FC's is one of the hardest or at least it used to because of how brutal the winds are. Also none of the fire plants are really that useful. Pyre Vine is the only thing that makes it playable. Arthur's Challenge is one of the only ones where I have to think because with levels with jesters, Pokra can't destroy everything because they reflect her projectile.

Here what I actually want for a reward system, throw in a zomboss fight after ten waves (as a last stand which allows sun producers). afterwards you get a pinata which increases in value the more zombosses you kill (you get the pinatas after you kill zomboss not when you lose). however after each zomboss kill, the zombies get buffed... other than that it’s the same as normal endless

I don’t think I’ve played every world’s Endless mode. I did spend a lot of time mindlessly playing Egypt and Lost City though. Egypt is probably one of the easiest Endless modes. The gimmicks and unique zombies of later worlds often make Endless a bit more difficult.

There is a way to manipulate what zombies will appear in the stage by simply entereing the zen garden before choosing your plants and then exiting it, which means that you don't have to ever face Gargantuars

When those quests come, you should probably play them.

Apple Mortar is ment to be moreso a support based plant rather than purely offense, it has low damage but stuns Zombies on the tiles it's attacking. Helpful to hold back brutes like Gargantuars, and the Far Future's mechs while plants with piercing damage like Laser Bean or Fumeshroom shreds through the weaker Zombies

Fun fact for endless, if you obtain all the plants in the almanac when playing endless, because you dont have any more plants you can get in endless, the game will either give yoj more sun for the next level, a lawnmower if you used one before, or a free of either power up, you can grind powerups like this and its just as broken as it sounds

Ancient Egypt's endless is so easy because there are no quirky zombies. When you get to Neon Mixtape Tour and they start spamming gargs there...well,may god help you. Also Apple Mortar does very little damage, but it can stun zombies it hits, so it's good at slowing waves of them down (not actually killing them).

And I just like seeing tons of gargs getting shredded lol Endlesses can give you free Power-ups and they carry over to the entire game. Certainly endless for starter world Egypt is straightforward. Endless really depends on the world. The early worlds aren’t that hard, I recommend playing Dark Ages or Jurassic Marsh, if you don’t feel ready for the ones like Modern Day and Big Wave Beach. That way you have a bit of a challenge without it being too difficult to handle

You should play penny's pursuit. It's ten times harder because on hard your primal potato mine might not even one shot bucket heads. Zombies immune to rubbarbarions stun. Z-Mechs, Cardio, Gladiator Gargantaur, Z Corp Cossultant will be more of an issue. The thing about endless is that eventually you'll find rare zombies I believe like Pyramid Head, Pelican Zombie, Stone slammer that one shots all plants including Caveman Johnny, brick head, and more.

for ancient egypt endless just use primal sunflower in 2 lanes , in 2 lanes primal peashooter,1 lane winter watermelon,1 lane primal wall nut, primal potato mine or switch this with grave buster and in 4 lanes spike weed for early crowd control im on lvl 43 and have no real challenge with this it takes a while to kill the gargantuars but you still beat them with them at the start this strat due to pushback and slowness from winter nut with the splash from it is very op also use 2 plant food at the start with the sunflowers you get it back

By the way, Apple Mortar is not as weak as you think. It can attack 3 lanes and cause stun, and it also lobs projectiles which means Gravestones can’t protect zombies. If you spam the thing with winter melons, most zombies will not be able to get past.

The trick to endless is getting enough sun production at the early stage to prepare your defense. If the level contains 4 or 5 waves I'll usually use up all plant food on sun production as soon as the level starts it helps you to get ready with your defense. You will recover your plant food by end of the level.

Apple Mortar isn't that good at dps, but it is an AMAZING support plant. if you get just a single row of them down, you can permastall some of the most annoying zombies so long as you have something to weed out the smaller ones. And yes, that does include permastalling Gargantuars

quick tip that i think will be really helpful is, you can use the hot potato on octodads octopuses qnd destroy them instantly Also silver parsnip is really good, its like the OG rhubarbarian

Go play modern day endless, it will get kinda busted after a few level, usually after level 5 or 10. SOmetimes you get hoards of gargantuars and portals releasing surfer zombie, ballad zombie, chicken wrangler and dodo zombie in one level. Sometimes it send waves of Football zombie crashing into your plants. Sometimes it's just one flag with imps and coneheads. I don't have busted prenium plants like Rhubarian, so the best I ever got was level 29.
