Fume Shroom is actually quite good. It's basically a cheaper Laser Bean with less range. If you put it more forward which your setup tends to do, they can be almost a direct upgrade to it.

Puffshroom is actually really good. One of them can kill a basic zombie, and 2-3 of them can kill a conehead. You can plant down sun producers, while fending off zombies without spending a dime.

Eh. The fact it's on a time limit really hinders it to me, if you want a free staller for early game, Iceberg Lettuce. And if you want blood sacrifice, Sun Shroom is 25 Sun so its not exactly unusable. To me, he just is severly outclassed in every regard

If you’re using him for early game, you’re only gonna use a couple puffshrooms to fend off a couple zombies while you get sun. Then, once you’ve got all your built-up sun, you can plant down your better options. I don’t think anyone is gonna try to beat a level only using puffshrooms. I’m just saying that he’s really good for earlygame.

To fully explain how jester works, it will literally deflect almost every type of projectile shoot at him from the front. There are certain exceptions like cactus and magnifying grass who he will not deflect shoots from and split pea can shoot him if he’s behind it. Plants that don’t attack by shooting projectiles will generally will be able to hit him no problem.

Nope, Cactus projectile can be reflected. It's a particularly bad one too, since it hits 3 of your plants in a line.

pro tip: NEVER use plant food on peashooters whenever a jester zombie is in your lane, he will deflect your barrage back at your plant and would probably clear your lane

Fun facts: spikeweed can cover up flowers on “don’t trample the flowers” levels! This may only work when the flowers are in the center of a column, which is very situational, but try it out!

Jester is probably one of the most annoying zombies to fight, as he reflects most attacks. However, Lightning reed, Snapdragon, Fume Shroom, Bonk Choy, Endurian and maybe a few others can't have their attacks reflected, so those will be useful.

Both Sun-shroom and Primal Sunflower are really good, I'd say they're equally as great. Sun-shroom is a lot better for longer levels and Primal Sunflower's better for rushier levels, so it depends on the level, really. A couple of other things to note, Magnifying Grass can also hit Jester, and don't sleep on Sun Bean. If you give it to something like a Knight, you get a good 360 sun from it.

Sun-shroom has gone MUCH better because of 3rd stage. Tbf, Puff-Shroom's timer is nice QoL considering you usually would dig that plant up when it goes away so... Yeah, Fume-shroom is still good despite Laser Bean existing. Sun Bean is a tricky plant to use but against certain zombies you will gain lots of sun. Also, Magnifying Grass with it... It's really good.

Bonk Choy can actually hit the Jester zombie as it’s a melee plant as well as spike weed and spike rock. Another thing that’s important to note is that Hypno Shroom also has the ability to regenerate the hypnotised zombie health, just to make you want to buy hypno shroom even more! Also I have hypno shroom bias.

Dark Ages is where I feel some of the first really nasty Zombies show themselves. The Jester is one of them and there's another one you'll encounter a little later in the world. What makes the Jester so nasty imo, is that its existence in a level greatly limits the kind of offensive plants you can use since he deflects almost every projectile-based attack in the game. The other super nasty zombie you've probably encountered in pinata parties, but we'll get to it when we get to it.

If you ever feel like spending money, caulipower (especially paired with imitator cause of the long refresh), and electric peashooter are 2 of the best plants in the whole game. I always use them now and I rarely lose a game lol they're ridiculous. Caulipower hypnotizes zombies at random (can be gargantuars yes), and electric peashooter shoots giant electric peas that are basically triple normal peas since they hit each zombie 3 times, and they hit zombies in 3 lanes, so it's like threepeater mixed with repeater mixed with lightning reed. Also neither of their ammo can be reflected back by the jester so that's a plus.

Puff shroom is really good, it lets you chip away tombstones, kill zombies for free and is really good for worlds where they start by sending zombies in multiple lanes. Plus the plant food is better the more you have

Hey Wolfy I've got a tip for you. In your Zen garden when you have boosted plants, you don't need to boost straight away as it'll stay there until you accept and use the boost as to not lock the plant out of your setup until you need the boost.

Primal sunflower does the same thing that Sunshroom's final stage does but immediately. But Sun shroom costs 25 sun and Primal Sunflower costs 75 sun

Yeah, Jester can only deflect tangible projectiles that he can grab. AOE plants like Laser Bean, Bonk Choy, Snapdragon and even plants that freeze him in place are his weakness. He can't deflect projectiles that are shot onto his back either.

Homing thistle is definitely much better when leveled up. Even just level 2 is a pretty significant change! You could definitely give it another chance after a few worlds and premium piñatas

The Uno reverse card deflects projectiles, lobbed or direct it deflects them. Example for projectiles are, peas, cabbage pult, melon pult, AKAE (wtf it's name is), red stinger etc. So basically thing that have travel time are deflectable, fire from Snapdragon, ice from P2W snap, bean laser, reed laser are not detectable. The tutorial is now over.

You should use a plant food on a sun shroom when it's SMALL instead of when it's LARGE. You will thank me when you see why... As for the jesters, it will reflect any projectiles, including those shot or lobbed, but not any other non-projectile damage (lightning reed, snapdragon, cherry bomb, etc.).

Theres a good plant named Thyme warp, it can teleport zombies back to where their starting point, this plant is perfect for when the zombies are too close to your house, but like gold leave, you can only use that plant in neon mixtape tour

For jesters, if its a projectile, he will deflect, anything else should work. These plants helped me through jesters: - laser bean - fume shrooms - lightning reeds - snap dragon - insta kills - he will stop to eat chilli bean - bonk choys can be used as well There are other free plants that work but revealing them would require spoilers.

In the next levels, Peanut is a really great plant to get! He is a mixture of Peashooter and a Wallnut! They work together solo, but when they’re combined into one, they can shoot peas AND block zombies at the same time! A really cool plant to get in my opinion!

Jester can't deflect melee plants, or energy based projectiles (lightning, lasers, plasma spikes, energy balls, fire or ice breath, etc...) but, don't try using catapult plants he will catch stuff out of the sky just to chuck it back at you.

The zoybean pod is broken, it produces cabbage browncoats and if you plant food it, it does the same thing as hypnoshroom. and if you max out that plant it will produce bucket heads instead of browncoats

Here's a tip if you plan to keep using sun shroom, which you totally can it's a great plant: the plant food not only produces a lot of sun but also grows the sun shroom to its third stage immediately. So if you really want to plant food one you can get a lot of value by planting a sun shroom then immediately plant fooding it to have a fully grown sun shroom within a few seconds.

Wolfy, just keep upgrading Homing Thistle. Her cost goes down at level 3 and damage gets noticeably higher at level 3. Also if you have good sun producers like SunShroom or Primal Sunflower and get a lot of Homing Thistles and good defensive plants (Primal Wallnut) that is when Homing Thistle is at its peek.

You can shovel plant in garden if you don't like plant food it has. You can do it till your favorite plant will be planted. It almost doesn't change anything cuz you will end up with loads of those unused seeds anyway. sorry for my english it is not my native language.

I hate how the only way to use magnifying grass is that you need to build a set up around it which just makes them not so versatile

Puffshrooms in this game are great because in PvZ2 you have less time to build your defence in the harder levels so puff shrom being able to stall out basics/coneheads is great stall while you build up sun and any game plans for the level.

when you use the plantfood on the baby sunshrooms, it makes them grow to their final form instantly plus they produce the same amounts of suns they would normaly produce if the plantfood was used on the shrooms beeing fully grown

When you upgrade tile turnip it’s cost reduces by quite a lot so once you run out of premium plants to buy and can start buying world piñatas I would recommend buying some far future ones to try and get it levelled up if you plan on using it in your set up

Just a heads-up, although you wont get it for a while... dont get too attached to the thyme warp it follows the god leaf as only usable in its home world (and a single PvZ3 level in modern day) so despite its usefulness (namely alongside cherry bomb) dont make any major strategies about it

if anything, the only plant that works like Thyme Warp but you can take it to any world is Hocus Crocus
