Ridiculously easy and inexpensive aircraft to own and operate. Love it. I've got my X4 down pretty well (mount-strap-plugin) but it's way more work mounting both packs and plugging in the four pairs of batteries instead of a single pack.

How long the battery lost? Why we can't make solar paramotors? Like on the parachute will absorb the enegy from the sun and it'll be fantastic almost unlimited untill the sun shines.

Hi Zach. Love it. You connected up the battery with both of your arms through the arc of the propellor. What would have happened if there was a fault in the controller and the motor went to full power? I think it's best to treat all props as potentially live. Connect the battery to the motor from the seat side. Much safer. Just a thought.
@ZachWhitehead3 жыл бұрын
That's actually on purpose. The propeller can't overpower your arm/foot when it's starting up so it's safe to do.
@SkidzFPV3 жыл бұрын
It would have to already be at a high rpm then it could definitely do some harm, but startiing from a stop it wouldn’t have enough torque to do any damage.

W/o gas motor, you can put two smaller engine/blades away from you body. It should increase efficiency and give you resilience. Opposing spins would get rid of twisting introduced by one single blade.

@@ZachWhitehead Look at what gasoline engines have done to the environment. If we had stuck with electric cars we wouldn’t be enduring all of that kind of crap and we’d have electric batteries that were smaller and more efficient today. Greed always wins out ....

Has anyone begin r&d on solar powered fabric? Smaller batteries, longer flight times in sunny conditions?

what kind of flight times are you getting? What is your mAh of the battery pack?

I'd really love to go for an ePPG like this, but they seem so range-limited and unsuitable for cross-country flying. They seem nice for shorter casual flying, though. If you're going to take the trouble to get up in the air, don't you want to stay up for longer? The simplicity of electric seems really nice, though. I wish there was a way to have the best of both worlds.

@manofsan3 жыл бұрын
@@coletonholzer4757 - I don't see how batteries will ever exceed regular fuel on energy density. If SP140 could fly for 3 hours on a charge, then I'd buy it -- but no less than 3 hours flying time.
@ZachWhitehead3 жыл бұрын
It's interesting, the majority of people (including me, even when I had a gasoline PPG) fly an hour or less. E.g fly after work, for an hour before sunset then head home for dinner.
@manofsan3 жыл бұрын
@Zach Whitehead - maybe one day they'll come up with a fuel cell or some other kind of range-extender. It would be nice to see an electric paramotor used with a speedwing or something that pushes the limits on airspeed. What is your prop diameter?

@@manofsan you’re forgetting rebuilding your engine, dealing with mixed gas, flying a nylon wing with a couple gallons of explosive fuel on your back.

Love it ! Getting one for sure ! Would it be ok for the battery and motor to run on full to get max altitude without letting off the throttle till the battery shuts off then glide down. would that cause any damage to the motor or battery? Does the battery shut off at 20% reserve to protect the longevity of battery life? Thank you in advance ! New battery technology for longer flight time yet ?
