DI is the reason why out of fighting games smash bros is intense , yeah the amount of input in melee is also insane but compared to other fighting games when you’re being combo’d there’s practically nothing you can do unless your opponent drops the combo , in melee you’re always engaged offensively and defensively , wouldn’t surprise me if Melee will continue for another decade.

Honestly no doubt it will, with netplay and all that stuff, people will eventually want to go more to tourneys, and create some if there are none (offline, I mean) (I'm doing this since Melee is dead where i live, but some people are interested in the game,and 3-4 people is enough to create a community, make others interested in the game too etc etc

Fox really is the 1:1 in terms of strength relating to the skill. Sure. Some moves like Up, F, and Down Smash are probably the best in the game. But they're very brain dead easy-to-use and if you can't intercept somebody with no skill spamming Smash attacks, you deserve the beating. His Aerials are all good but only Up Air and Dair are lethal when executed properly. His others are just solid strong. Only his Up B is easy strong for specials as it's a straightforward strong recovery even that has weaknesses. Fox, for the most part, requires the best standard execution to give the player what seems like an unfair advantage, even then, although Marth require finesse, I wouldn't say Marth's input work is as demanding for example.

Fastfall has a hold buffer (I never remember if it’s 3 or 4 frames), so you can input it up to that early and still get the quickest fastfall. Unless there’s some weird interaction that I don’t know about with shine specifically.

Not to undermine the insane recovery here, but the fastfall out of shine isn't a frame perfect thing. Sure if you do it early, nothing happens, but you can fastfall as long as the animation is over. Sure he did it on the first possible frames, doesn't mean it's frame perfect per say.

Ledge dashes (at least the highly potent one he got) are indeed frame perfect, and so is SDI (although it's fairly easy to get as long as you're spamming directional when you know you're about to be hit.) I can agree the fast fall out of shine probably didn't need to be frame perfect to dodge the forward air, he probably could've been a frame late and been fine, though a frame too early spells death.
