I tried throwing harder than what is comfortable and beyond what i think i should throw (not throwing my arm off), and it works very well. I called it "getting my arm up to speed". It works for me way better than the rise method. I'm glad you made a video on this.

Dan Blewett probably not at a high level but in high school we would basically throw 100 percent over short bursts/reps and once guys figured out they could control 100 percent at a reasonable level, then that was no longer 100% but something 95-99+%, if that makes sense. Keep in mind I went to a high school with graduating classes less than 100, and we just took explosive training from lifting and converted it into live game/scrimmage situations. So “some” was probably an exaggeration and it might only be our one backwoods coach that told us to hit tires until we established hand and grip strength.
