writing a novel about Helena Rubinstein it was surprising for me as German writer to note the very same view on the her personality. Unfortunately her importance as an important art collector was not mentioned.......and in 1870 Krakow did not belong to Russia but the Austro-Hungarian monarchy ;-)

Her brand made my favorite cosmetics in the 1970's. She had two very nice lip glosses aimed at teenagers and a good foundation for oily skin that had very few ingredients. Those products were missed.

She sold the idea that EVERY woman can be beautiful. "There are no ugly women, only lazy ones." she said. If a woman dieted, exercised and, of course, used Rubinstein cosmetics beauty can be hers. Helena sold hope and dreams.

No joke, she inadvertently created the current oversaturated leftover women market. Her products allow women to delude themself into thinking they deserve a better man. The problem with that is, when all the good men are taken, can they go back to reality and realize their not as pretty as they were told they were? Sadly, the answer is no.

Very interesting, thank you! The Queen of the Beauty we know. But rapidly unknown after acquisition by L'Oreal Group... This is THE story of beauty to be proud of. Not L'Oréal Paris.
