How Helpful Is An E-bike For Commutes?

You can set Strava to an ebike setting, and then it doesn't mix those rides with regular bike rides:)

Tern builds a nice cargo e-bike. I prefer what I built in my picture, because I needed more range. Tern is perfect for staying in a city where you can get to your destination in 30 minutes or less. Back tire blow-outs on an e-bike can be a pain to replace, if it has a rear motor. Tern appears to use all mid-drive Bosch motors. Hopefully, they're using a quality chain.

@@TheRickurb Would that be 15 miles round trip or 30 miles round trip? My commute is 48 miles round trip. The Tern is an awesome e-bike, but a second battery would be needed for my commute.

I put some sealant in my tubes (OrangeSeal) to prevent those nasty leaks. Not as much as in my tubeless gravel wheels though 🙂 Kudo's for the guy that gave you a lift home!! 👍

how do you get the sealant in the tubes? Is the stem core removable?

@@BurkeMinahan ,yes it is. With all the types of valves I know, you can remove the core. Then I take a big syringe and a piece of tube that fits around the valve stem (about 1" long will do). Hope this helps! 🙂🤙

You might need to use Tannus armour inserts for preventing some punctures on your ebike.
