its a game with programmed AI. Once you work out how they function(through many many hours of play no doubt) you can use it to your advantage. Plays that always seemed to "work" have been around in madden since the 2000's

@@haitiangamer84 - actually, I'm working on a scheme from the Ravens playbook in 'Gun Deuce Close' - opponents will never know if you're about to run up the middle or send 5 out on routes... and there's a pretty solid mesh play in there called 'mesh spot' that can be hot-routed pretty nicely. It's also a symmetrical formation, so there is no weak or strong side for your opponent to key off of (unless you motion one of the TEs to try and fake them out)

I once won a Madden Tournament by cheesing audibles I had set up as three running plays: left/right/dive. It was somehow impossible to stop in that particular version of Madden (2007). I was held out of the end zone 14 possessions total in 11 games. All but 1 of those was because of a fumble.

You should only be able to run certain formations a set amount of times a game. EA should implement a system where it locks certain plays to avoid spam and not be allowed to run the same play twice in a row.
