The greatest band... It does feel like a nice time of our lives... I mean like... There's always a Hootie song that takes your back and brings some good memories 😀

Your right....I remember when their first album was the biggest hit.....6 of us were on a sailboat in Lake Huron sailing for 5 days, we played these songs over and over and over, getting high every day while sailing on the blue waters of The Huron.

In the 90s I listened to a lot of angst filled music like grunge and gangsta rap. But when Hootie & the Blowfish made it big they were such a breath of fresh air whose songs made me feel positive and happy to be alive for a change. I'm thankful for them to this day.

I saw these guys multiple times in Greenville,NC and they were so good musically but what stood out most to me was how down to earth they were. I still pop in Cracked Rear View and remember every lyric!!

The story goes that Darius was in the dorm shower freshman year at college, and was belting out Billy Joel's "Honesty". He loved to sing all the time and as he put it "the acoustics were great in there!" So he's loudly singing and Mark Bryan walks in. He stands outside the shower and listens because he has to know who that is, and then when Darius gets out Mark immediately introduces himself. They become friends, realize they love the same bands and singers, start making music together, and the band is born.

On July 24th, it's going to be 25 years since their debut album "Cracked Rear View" was released. All 4 members have children who are mostly in their late teens and early 20s-Let that sink in.

I love Hootie and the Blowfish!! I love Darius as a country artist, also. I watch Darius, though, and see him wearing the USC hats all the time. (Complement coming toward the end.) While I grew up in Columbia but am a Clemson fan (born and bred), and I do not like the Gamecocks (again, bred that way), I can sincerely appreciate Darius's dedication and loyalty to his school. Again, I love listening to Darius's country songs and to Hootie's songs. Y'all are great!! - With love from a Charleston Clemson grad and fan

I knew in that song I want to hold your hand I knew it was a fake accent because no African American voice sounds that white naturally with a Southern twist. So he is no more than just another Eddie Murphy or Steve urkel because they can do voices or you can call him black Robert Williams
