Unless of course this is a rental or they could have recently bought the home and acquired the tub from a previous owner. Which would make sense considering the previous owner wouldn't have cared suddenly to repair this tub.

There can be more problems sometimes with having it empty, as things can nest in there. Can also accumulate rain water and cause similar issues if you don't keep pumping it out

To be honest, both pools and hot tubs are not worth it unless you have enough money to have someone constantly doing maintenance work for you. They are too much hassle for too little enjoyment.

You can clean them yourself, I test Chemical levels, clean my often. Change cartridge filter often. You don’t need to be rich to maintain one. Just need to be rich to run it, my eats electricity. I have a Solar panel/battery set up just to run it.

Not true for use we use it are hot tub every day for 1 hour and it clean all we do is clean filter 2 times a year and test chemical levels every other week and replace water every time it get bad every month

you can maintain your pool and hot tub yourself for only the cost of chemicals. Been doing this myself for about 4 years. only cost me about $100 to $150 a year for both.

If your spa service tech isn’t adjusting your water chemistry then you don’t need him - just fire him and get somebody who does it right. It’s not complicated and there’s plenty of competent techs out there. Or watch a few videos and do the maintenance yourself - once you learn it’s quick and fun

My family owns a hot tub and we clean it every year to try and take great care of it. We even drain it in the winter when we don't use it. It's shocking to me that someone wouldn't take great care of something so expensive and not use it for 10 years. If you own something you once wanted, make sure to remember to enjoy it.

Pool cleaning was the best summer job ever! I worked in the Torrance, Palos Verdes area in Los Angeles. We knew all the great lunch spots, and sometimes the house wife's were sunbathing. I was a young lad in my early 20s. What a fun job.

There's outdoor hot tubs off varying Vertical and Horizontal medium or large or huge sizes.. And also outdoor hot tubs can be pricey or expensive to annually daily regularly maintain And can accommodate between 2 people to 5 people or 6 people.. Depending on what the customer ordered how big it is..... Then there's indoor hot tub bath which is cheap enough to buy and easy enough to clean and rinse...
