I wanted to make a video of How Hurricanes Impact Fishing. Hurricanes Affect Fishing in a lot of different ways and this vid will break down how fish are impacted when a hurricane moves through and what you can do to adjust your fishing to find fish.
Unfortunately, hurricanes and major weather systems impact any area that has a saltwater fishing - so this vid is intended to help you how to catch fish before and after a hurricane.
Please pray for those affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas and Hatteras, North Carolina many are left with no homes and flooded areas.

That's a whole lot of useful information and applied common sense. I usually fish in the Elizabeth, it's close to where I live. From what you're saying I should probably wait until this big slug of runoff makes its way through the system and the fish come back to where I can get at them. I can think of several places I fish that are as you describe, with flats adjacent to a deep channel so I'll start there and work my way up to shallower water. Thanks Jeff, you're a real help.

Some of the best in shore fishing is right before a hurricane. I caught two huge trout in Rockport the day before Harvey hit. I also had a great experience deep sea fishing in Destin Florida right after a hurricane. It stirs up the grouper, snapper and triggerfish.

In the upper bay, we've been dealing with the low salinity from 2 years of above average rainfall. Saltwater fishing in Maryland isn't nearly as good as it used to be. Lots of runoff, freshwater releases from the Conowingo dam, and low oxygen have really hurt. I almost hope we get a drought next year.
