Post Tropical Storm Surf Fishing (Better Than Expected)

This was my first outing after tropical storm Barry swept by the Alabama Gulf Coast and roughed up our surf for a number of days. Typically after a storm water conditions stay pretty dirty for a few days and bring bad fishing along with it. However we were able to make this a productive morning!

Enjoy watching your Beach charters, especially when you're showing new fisherman the right ways to handle the tackle, and the respect you show your clients as well as the fish.( Following the regs, etc.). PS, a few of those drum have been sneaking up NY way, hope to get a shot at them from the beach. Stay cool brother, tight lines and big fish.

Great video! Love seeing people brand new to fishing learning the basics (especially kids). Lift, reel down, let him run. Lift, reel down, let him run. Keep pressure on, walk him in. I hit the surf here in P’cola on Sunday and the swell was ridiculous. Caught a few whiting and hard heads, but I spent more time dodging jellyfish than anything. Seems to have calmed down some...may ride out and check the evening bite later today.

I enjoy the fishing trips! I notice everything that you do and should mention the specs (reel size, line wt, etc). I only get to the beach to fish maybe once or twice a year and I watch your trips so that I don't waste time doing things that don't matter when I get there. I have purchased 4 steelhead rods (8.5 -10ft) from Okuma and matching reels 3000/4000 bait runners. I have several 9 /13ft surf rods, I have gotten #1, 1/0 circle sea hooks, I enjoy making lures that I will probably never have the time to fish. (beads, floats, steel wire, squid bodies, etc) (I have at least 8 tackle boxes/ 500+ lures for all types of fishing) I have fluorocarbon leaders. I tie my own pompano rigs late at night while I watch your videos. I have purchased fish bites and contemplating buying a sand flea rake. I am even going to plastidip some sinkers and hooks with bright orange for my next trip there. I normally only have a weekend or two days to fish when I get there to Orange beach. I try to squeeze all types of fishing when I am there. I go out on Capt Ogletree's boat one day, fish from the pier one day and then I try close in whiting or pompano on the steelhead rods,. I even bring a DJI Mavic Drone to do Drone fishing with a couple of reels with 1200 yds of 30lb test with my own self made rigs for large Red Fish or Amberjack. I watch all of the local guides youtube feeds in your area and I take notes on what to look for when reading a beach. I think I have seen just about every video you have posted..

Yes, please record your fishing trips. I live in Central Florida so it's a hour and a half drive to fish. I need all the motivation I can get. Lol. My son and I have a goal to max out Pompano in one trip this year. We have only been able to catch one keeper size "our first" and the fish is delicious. Tight lines 🎣

#1, yes I like watching you take clients fishing, like how you interact with them and explain things to them ... and their reactions when you put "newbies" on good fish! #2, I was surprised you guys did so well catching good fish and the variety of species you took on this first trip after the storm. And finally, #3, man you need to go to a Dr and get yourself well! If you've been sick for 3 days and are still out of breath, you need some meds to help you kick this thing. Great video, but I could tell you didn't feel well, you just weren't your usual self. Go to the doc and get well brother!
