Many moons ago while night fishing I kept hearing these gigantic splashes repeatedly . I got out my trusty Q-Beam spotlight to see what was jumping . Turned out to be a couple of angry beavers upset with some guys catfishing close to the beaver den entrance . My spot light lit up the eves of the beavers swimming close to shore right at the waterline as they swam and would slap their tails and dive to scare off the intruders . These catfishermen got hysterical at this point yelling for me to turn of my light because it was making the alligators angry and they could attack . I had to laugh being you could plainly see they were just beavers and in California there are no alligators. Good times .

When I first started bass fishing and did not understand how to target them or seasonal patterns or really anything. I started catching big fish by night fishing from the bank and it really built my confidence and helped me with my bite detection so I highly recommend it for that and it's just really fun! My most productive techniques at night have been weightless senkos, whopper ploppers, football jigs and large ribbon tail worms Texas rigged. Slow is the key at night.

My top 2 PBs were both on the same back/blue spinnerbait w single, black, Colorado blade, no trailer. Biggest one was during the most beautiful night imaginable, only boat on the lake, and no mosquitos at a 7kElev. AZ lake. Walleyes are said to go shallow at night, they're predators too. Lots of predators are nocturnal, owls even! But not bald eagles, couldn't enjoy them otherwise.

HEY RANDY I have a question about lights at night...I used to fish with a guy when i was younger and he would only go on full moon, but he never used lights of any kind...we would fish around lighted docks however and if not in a lighted area, we would have the moons light to see by...I have fished several years now on my own and I have lights on my boat- I was wondering if that helps or makes a difference...I get huge schools of small fish, shad and fry that swim next to the boat and I see other fish darting through the school feeding on them but ive heard that lights scare off bass...what are your thoughts?

I'm not Randy, but I fish around lighted docks at night, and always do well. Lights bring bugs, which brings smaller fish, which brings bigger fish.

Ive watched hawgs rooting around with there backs out of the water in real shallow water. They definitley "loosen up" at night to say the least

I kill them on crankbaits at night also. Trust me crankbaits are not just for day fishing...

Yup. I clean up with a dark colored, 1 foot runner at night. Chatterbaits are also killers, but over time, they learn what that vibration means.
