I’ve always known rather than felt that you’re a smashing wedding photographer. Your lifestyle/fashion work recently is also impeccable. I’m glad things are on the up and up with you. May I assume the inimitable Mrs. Humble and the rest of the clan are well and good. Stay humble.

Excellent video! The archetype process also finally made me happy with my digital photos as I always struggled getting the look I wanted with digital compared to film. I still prefer film, particularly medium format, but TAP has made me far more confident in my digital workflow and really helped me dial in a consistent look.
@Tom-Humble2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! 100% agree. I still prefer the look and feel or real film but TAP has made me happy with my digital edits to the point where I’ll only shoot film for certain reasons and anything else just stick to digital. What a time to be alive haha 😂

went to the beach yesterday and shot the entire day only using your colour[expired] preset and it just might be my fav preset of all time right now 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂...insanely gorgeous and packs just the right amount of grain to make almost any photo FEEL like a lot more than what it would be using any other profile. you are the GOAT my man thank you and please upload more presets soon? - Sincerely, a fan

Man! I was just about to sell my Voigtländer 58 1.4mm. Now I'm thinking of BUYING a GFX50 :D Great video! Im very impressed by you editing speed. Getting a finished image in 2 minutes is fantastic!
@Tom-Humble2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It’s such a nice combo once you get the hang of it. Feels like you’re shooting medium format film but with instant results! I obviously rushed the edit for the video but when you edit 50+ weddings a year like me it becomes second nature.

@@Tom-Humble Let's be real. "Rushing" can be a good thing. Whatever we do after the first 2 minutes,.... well it's very likely only we see the difference from there. And since i'm not looking much at my (client)work after it's done, being efficient and quick is a great thing. Turnaround time is also important. Sometimes more than making it 110% perfect. I'm fortunate enough to have a PhaseOne XF as my workhorse so getting another camera... I can't find a good argument right now :D Still what you did there - pairing the FX lens with a bigger sensor is brilliant. Great look! I hope for more videos but I get if you don't find the time. Same here.

Great video and pictures! It's funny I just made my first photography youtube video and it's about the same thing - achieving the film look out of digital. I also use the 50r and the voigtlander - great combo!

No way! I’ll check it out. It’s definitely a great combo. I’ve been using it for a few years now and still my favourite digital set up.

Everything that you said about the jeopardy of shooting film applied to the first fifteen years of my photography career. Very stressful ☹️

It definitely can be stressful but it’s also one of the main reasons I find film more fun

@@Tom-Humble I loved shooting film except where there was no second chance to shoot if there was a failure. I used to shoot a lot of aerial photography (in the RAF) and a failure could be a big problem. I breathed a big sigh of relief when I got my Canon 1Ds.

@@markbaigent8373 yes I follow his channel. I love how he can make a 20 min video and it all be about taking just 1 photo. Reaffirms the importance of slowing down which film very much helps with.

Would have been interesting to see a comparison between these photos after applying your film-like post processing and the same photos after applying a “normal” post processing (without going for this film-like look). For me it’s never really clear what is so different about the look of film vs digital. Btw, did you ever try Dehancer?

Hi, I see that you have already selected Fuji Pro 400h as Preset on the left, when editing a photo I always have to go to the profile selection section, is there a way to have the profile on the left in the preset section? or save the profile as a preset? thanks for the video

Thanks for sharing! Do you ever use the Fujifilm simulations instead of TAP? If you don’t I’m just curious why?
@Tom-Humble2 жыл бұрын
I use the Fuji simulations within my own presets so have used them in the past but they don’t come as close to the look of real Fuji and portra film stocks imo as you get when using TAP.
@roybush12 жыл бұрын
Fine for odd select photos but surely would be a nightmare for a batch edit of wedding photos
@Tom-Humble2 жыл бұрын
Very true. I only use it for specific photos. Although apparently there is a way to batch edit and add the grain. I think there’s a video about it on the TAP FB page.

as that's a 35mm lens do you get a lot of vignetting? It it a Nikon mount?

Yes it’s a Nikon mount and there’s some vignette when using wide open but very easily corrected in post.

I prefer using my 645z medium format (especially for street) the AF is better than the GFX range. I'm looking to something similar with some vintage glass but adapters are slim to none

I simply love digital. Film a freaking gamble! The lab if color, can be the begin and end of an endeavor! A lab ruined 4 films, not so recently. Actual debris from other films! Remjet! Larger sensors is sheer selling! Sorry. All one needs a minimum of 330 of actual needs! I made large prints with early digitals CCD and small MB! Film is always grainy! I like that!
