Excellent video, very thorough without being overwhelming. I bet I'm not alone is saying how thrilled I am to have finally found such a helpful, practical eye blinking tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills. Can't wait for part 2.

Great upload. It’ll be cool to see most masks that’ll blink in the near future. Excited for the next upload.

One day i wanna do this but with a some kind of hardware (probably a a tiny camera a la pi-cam but if there's something more lightweight, awesome) that monitors the user's eyes, so it follows your blinks... And therefore, you can wink, 'bat eyelashes', play sleep, etc!

Awesome tutorial, thank you so much for posting it! Do you think you could provide a link to the servos you use? Every time I buy servos, they end up being very loud, not smooth, and break easily.
@WillowCreative3 ай бұрын
i've tried a bunch of 9g servos but they're pretty much all the same loud cheap stuff. I've bought them mostly from aliexpress, like 5 or 6 different vendors

INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! I can’t wait to try this with my cosplay. By chance, do you have any suggestions about hooking it up to a remote? I’m thinking of having 4 servos controlling each eyelid and thought about having a controller (like an infrared) input a command for movements like a “wink” or just the top eyelids for a “frown”. I’m incredibly new to electronics and constructing them so any information helps! Fantastic work!!!

Its somethign I want to look into in the future, so i don't know precisely. My best bet is looking up an arduino nano project that involves remote control for tips, then simply integrating that into this basic control setup. Adafruit blogs has a LOT of projects that might help you out on remote control arduino. I would omit the bottom eyelids or have one motor control both eyelids on one side (i had double action on an older project but the linkage was unstable and it's worse for vision so thats why its only upper eyelid on this project). You can also look into a trigger on your cheek so you can use your cheek or jaw for control without having to install remote control. Buttons that trigger easily such as limit switches work well for that

@@WillowCreative But you made the black pieces that you have or how I do them is that the only problem I have is what makes the servo flow
@WillowCreative3 ай бұрын
@aaron9462 to make similar plastic pieces you can use a knife to cut a moon shape from a plastic ping pong ball and glue it to the servo motor 👍
