Amen sister. So true!! It's hard for some to understand this. Many just tolerate being bored with their bible study time because that's what they have been told is the correct way to learn is. But it's not listen for God His the greatest teacher of all. He will lead you to whatever bibles & tools you need to grow stronger I'm Him. The best example of this for me is the story of Jonah. Ninivah worship the pagan god Dagon, who is a fish god whose images consist of a mans torso coming out of the mouth of a fish. So God then has His prophet Jonah spit up on the shores of the Ninivah by a large fish. This would have gotten the whole cities attention due to the god they worshiped. Jonah may have only been swallowed because of his disobedience but God used it to reach a whole city on the level they understood as sacred.

I just post notes or write in my Bible when I don't understand; then I end up closing it and leaving it alone...

My mom and i I have both drawn in our bibles since I was a child. I definitely understand using creativity and art to gain understanding of a particular subject. As an artist, I’m a visual, hands on kind of girl. I’m a seasoned Christian learning about the deeper things of God. Usually what most churches aren’t teaching on. I love your beautifully done pages. WOW! What an amazing Bible Review. Gorgeous Bibles. I have a few of the Bibles you've shown here, and although I am a very creative person, you've really taken creativity to another level inside your Bibles. I can appreciate what you've shared about your journey. I have a huge Bible collection comprised of every translation imaginable. While many people say they do not understand the King James Version, it is poetic and very much in my memory far more than the other translations. Never seen anything like this. Love, love, love! I started an ABC book for names and attributes of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. My little book is full! Started the second one. Also, an ABC book of little cut outs, labels, pictures of stuff, it has grown into 2 large ring binders full of little stuff. Never ever thought of this for my bible. I have a new NIV study bible with a hot pink leather cover. I have never been able to use it because it is so bright. Now I know what I am doing with it! Thank you for this new creative way to stay in the Word of God. My next manicure, I am going to ha e red polish out o. Them. Always go with a coat if clear. Yes, red! Have a blessed day!

Thank you for posting this Cat! I was raised in a Christian household but I never had any foundation of my own. This became evident throughout my life thus far. Long story short, I recently became re-invested in God and forming a connection with him. I want a true connection and I've been reading my Bible. I think the way you connect with God and His Word is amazing and beautiful. I spend 2 or 3 hrs reading and studying, if not more. I use simultaneously a Westminster Reference Bible and my Thompson Chain (Oh, l love it!). I could spend 2 or 3 hours just in my Tommy Chain. One or two verses will list several topics in the margins and many references in each of those topics, so it really opens up and unpacks the text. Thanks for another great vid.

Thank you Cat, this was very helpful. I too only read in the morning, but like you said I need to get off my iPad and dedicate more time to the Lords word. I do study and do scripture writing and have even started trying scripture memorizing and recently added a prayer devotional to my bedtime. I just need to be more consistent and I know it.

Those Bibles are incredible! So creative and beautiful! I've been working on my own Study Bible, incorporating verses from many versions, adding detailed notes and information, etc. It's all on my computer and would love to print it out and bind it somehow, but I add notes as I go and grow, which would make it difficult to change in a hardcopy format. I miss having a HANDS ON Bible. I've read many versions but never found ONE that I like better than others which is why I created my own version. I would love to have one Bible that I used since I got saved 27 years ago. Anyhow your Bibles are just BEAUTIFUL!!!

I so loved this video and subscribed to your channel! You truly are an inspiration and I'm so glad I happened onto your podcast. I've always written notes in my Bibles too but not as beautiful as you do...which I'm going to start! Just recently I was talking to my nephew and we were discussing our Bibles. I asked if he made written notations in his, and he said he didn't and liked to keep his Bibles new and pristine looking. He seemed amazed I wrote in mine. I then told him about hearing a pastor one time talking about how difficult it was whenever he was called upon to preach at a funeral of someone he didn't know. He said he would always ask a family member if the deceased had a personal Bible he could use. He said some Bibles he would open up and it seemed as though it had never been touched, with pages still sticking together, etc. Then sometimes he would open a Bible where the person had made lots of notes and comments. He said he could really get a feel for that person like he had known him personally, all from the person's notes and favorite scriptures, etc. I just thought that was a true testament of what your Bible says about yourself and your walk with Jesus. When I told that to my nephew, he said he would use one of his Bibles to start taking notes in, said he just had always liked keeping them clean and neat!

I just love a well loved bible. But...but I have to admit I too love a fresh clean bible too. I love both opening a bible to a crisp clean page. I also love flipping through my bible that has a my past Spiritual journey. I believe if I kept all my bibles looking clean I would never be able to remember each time I have a study session with God no matter how big or little it was. I could flip back and see my thoughts & reflection over what I was reading at the time. Being able to reallly see this and hold it in my hand helped give me the confidence I needed on those days where Satan try to beat me down whisperings how worthless and unforgivably I am. I can now stand tall and punch him directly in the face because I know just how far I have come along on my journey to seeking out God. My first bible was a colouring bible :) I remember when I purchased it, I could feel the Holy Spirit guiding me to make that investment. At my first Alpha session (a study session learning more about who Jesus is), I remember Nicky Gumbel said the bible is a love letter from God...Your bibles are beautiful and inspiring. They remind me of the bible I was guided to buy, and that I love to read too. Thank you for sharing your intimate connection with God. It is inspiring :)

I was gifted a NIV Bible from an ex boyfriend 19 years ago. I struggle to read it - i've literally just started in the last few months . . . i feel lost too . . . My church is kjv only and they're very strict about it being the only 100% accurate translation.. For years I dreaded reading the Bible because I'd have to cross reference what certain scripture meant. I was always told old English is something you'll learn over time but to this day I have to cross reference to fully understand what the KJV is saying. It wasn't until I found this old teeny bopper (think a Bible made for tweens) type of ESV study bible that was gifted to me that I began to truly enjoy and read the Bible for hours on end. Even though a lot of the margins are filled with advice for girls who are coming of age (I'm 22) it's still the only translation I have that I found myself GROWING in. Like I finally feel free to read and understand God's word now :) no more struggling with old English vernacular and confusing phrasing, and I don't care what my church has to say.

Suggestion: Try the Amplified Study Bible. I enjoy various translations of the Bible. The KJV is in my memory. The Message Bible makes me laugh and have Aha moments when compared to the KJV, and it is a must have for those who have Bible Collections. Blessings on your journey. 🌺🌄

I have struggled to read my Bible, but am a prayer warrior! I was just talking to my husband that I felt like if I could do Bible Art Journaling it would help me be in the Word. God bless you ❣️ I struggled with the Bible for years but I always been drawn to art and colors and nature. I first experimented with tabs. Something so simple made me gravitate to the Bible. I always been a highlighter lol Then I learn of the inspire bible and the illustrated one. That’s when a light went off in my daughter’s eyes and I feel selfish because I never got her one! Then I noticed she was going through some anxiety due to COVID and no school no socializing......this morning your video popped up. I can’t wait to go out today and get supplies and stickers. I colored all the maps in my Bible and made little doodles of flowers and vines. But your creativity has inspired me to do something similar. I read the entire Bible two years in a row but this year was strange and I could not sustain a constant read like I did in the past. I totally understand what you mean cat when you said you went away from the Lord. I did that when I dealt with a personal loss. Then in 2019 I had this desire to come back to God so I got my first Bible. I've read that entire Bible I still use it. You know I've started Bible journaling. Plus I'm going now to school for biblical study it is amazing what kind of Journey the father will take us each on.

I had the same issue with the KJV growing up. Also couldn't connect with the ASV or RSV. Then the NIV came along and that became my only Bible because I was 'warned' about other translations and the 'errors' they contained. It wasn't until I got out of that NIV only trap that I realized having multiple translations really helps understand more of what God has to say so now I have a collection of different translations and even have started learning to consult the original Hebrew and Greek for even more understanding. Currently, my first go-to Bible is the ESV but I have found that now I'm older (60), I can go back to the KJV and connect a lot better with it. I missed out on getting a Thompson Chain when they were available but have managed to get my hands on a 1983 NIV version from a used book store. Tiny, tiny print so I need a magnifier but I can still learn how to use it to see if it would be worth it for me to invest in one of the Zondervan versions when they come out. I am a Bible collector, apparently. In addition to the multiple physical Bibles, my Kindle is loaded down with even more. I am enjoying seeing your collection and your reviews of what you do own.

It's just wonderful to see people loving God's word. I have just started Bible Journalling. I love the KJV and have gone back to it, but I have other translations too. Our church is NIV and my husband loves that, he cant connect with KJV. We are all different and God has catered for us all. The 1984 version of the NIV was my go-to translation for a long time, but I was persuaded by the arguments against the 2011 revision and jumped ship. Now I mostly use the NASB, but for certain purposes I also use the NET (mostly for the great wealth of translation notes) and I also go back to the KJV for its classic language and historical significance.

I feel so much better after coming across this video! I just got onto the Bible about ten years ago. I have a bible that was my Mother’s when she was a kid. It’s old and blah so I decorated it and plus I highlight a lot. I always thought I was desecrating the book by doing that but I just had to do it anyway! I’m going to do so much more now without any guilt and it will make me use my Bible more! So glad your channel popped up!

I believe we all learn differently. I'm more of a note taker and kind of see reading the Bible like when i was in school. I learn alot that way. I cannot draw, but respect those who do. I believe we are artistic in our own way.

I love this. My story is much the same but in checking out Bibles, I chose to keep the KJB. It is my favorite. I found Pastor Bob Davis on Blue Letter Bible and with Him, I learned how to study the Bible. He is part of Calvary Chapel and goes book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. I’ve learned more studying with him than all the years of Sunday School and Church. I am learning to tap into the Holy Spirit for clarity and understanding. I was compelled to quit reading books because that is time I could be spending with the Lord. My spiritual walk is called, “The Way and The Walk.”

Cat...im so happy I was able to purchase the huge kjv I was wanting the other day that I couldn't get because I was pennies short..i LOVE it..its ..i think 12.5 font size ..very easy to see..i use it to handwrite out my bible..its a BEAUTY!! I use my purple Holman kjv to do indepth study..i find if I dont keep an eye on the time im 4 or 5 hours into it...im so so into my Bible's more..thanks to u..god bless 🙏 u I would send u a picture of my huge bible but can't figure out how lol
