I’m 43. I’ve learned there’s never a right time for anything. You just do your best with what you know today and what you want today. Everything is always changing. I thought I knew what I wanted in my early to mid twenties and those interests and ideals have changed over the years. I expect everything to just keep changing over time. Enjoy your life! Enjoy today! ❤

I am 38 and I also agree! If you would of asked 18 year old me, where I would be right now, I would be in a alternate universe. The only thing that panned out is being married but much later then I “wanted” or visioned. It is crazy how many rollercoaster ups and downs, and curveballs life has brought my way! But you know what, it makes life more interesting and trusting in God’s timing, more than my own is what I am working on right now! There is always something positive out of all the rough patches, is something always to remember 🙏🏻💙

Have an off camera heart-to-heart discussion with Jordy on how HE feels about being in your videos. Careful not to paint Jordy as "content" because he's not. He's an important person in your life and deserves as much respect and privacy to whatever extent he says is ok. Plus, Jordy is your first boyfriend post-divorce... you don't really know what the future holds for either of you individually OR as a couple. His presence may or may not be in future videos depending on, well, life. Ya never know. Heavily featuring him now may or may not be beneficial. I guess it would also depend on how serious your relationship really is.

I had the same thought. Michel, I'm glad that you came around to the point that I was going to make which is to decide what YOU want with respect to Jordy and have conversations with him about it. Don't ask your viewers what they want on that score. Focus on the relationship being a real relationship, not content. You are only a year in post-divorce and while Jordy seems to be an amazing person and very supportive of what you do, try to keep a little to yourself and really settle into that relationship off camera. If you both decide that you want to explore sharing Jordy and the things you do at some point, then great, we will be happy to watch that. It is nice to see how well he treats you. As you clearly recognized in your video, you still have lots of feeling, growing, living, deciding to do and there is no need to solve for it all now. You have lots of positive things going for you now, just let some of them happen naturally.

I am not one to usually comment although I watch your videos consistently and enjoy your content, but based on what you said in this video I feel led to comment. I went through a traumatic divorce about 8 years and it took a huge toll on me mentally. I was abused and cheated on and it honestly let me with scars that were hard to heal and I am still dealing with some of that trauma to this day. Shortly after my divorce though I met someone when like you I was not looking and neither was he. He was amazing though and a good, kind, God fearing man and my parents really liked him which did not happen with my ex. I needed time however, and he was so patient with me as I worked on "me" and it really grew the foundation of what would become a beautiful relationship. I had to let go of the timeline I had in visioned for "me" and trust in the Lord. This man ended up becoming my now husband and we have a beautiful daughter together. Looking back now I honestly love that we weren't looking when we found each other, because I really admire that part of our story and it seems like Jordy is patient and very understanding which is hard to find. He seems to like you for "you" even the parts of you that still need time to heal, which I think is a testament to his character.

Michel thank you for this video, I love your raw honesty. It was you who helped my 22 year old daughter figure things out (due to your honest videos of things you've gone through) and find a doctor who would finally test her for MCAS! She had almost all the same symptoms you were going through. Before your videos we were at a total loss of what was happening to my daughter. We went from Dr to Dr to specialist and even to the Mayo clinic and nobody had any answers for us! We finally found a Dr that is a MD and an ND. The best of both worlds! She diagnosed my daughter with MCAS and backed her off the 4 Claritins a day. To try and get her on some natural stuff first to hopefully reset her poor body. It was in flight or fight mode. She also tested her for lupus which thankfully came back negative. My daughter was also tested for celiacs disease and that was negative too. She does have a major intolerance for gluten but also can't have corn or soy. Anyhow, I wanted to thank you for your honesty with all you've been through because it helped our family get an idea of what to have my daughter tested for. Plus I wanted to tell you that my daughter was also having those anxiety issues too and her MD/ND told her to start Tulsi Holy Basil tea, the regular and sweet rose one everyday. It's helped my daughter a ton! It's supposed to help your adrenal glands reset and has other health properties as well. Thanks again for the videos. Big hugs to you sweetie!

Oh honey. There’s never perfect timing for anything. You are never going to fully get rid of struggles or issues you’re going through. It’s about DOING life with someone. Feeling safe and secure TO struggle, discover new things about yourself and themselves, to expand and grow, and really go through some shit. Cause it will happen. You might feel better this year about your life and who you are right now but in 5 years there will be something else and you will change again. And finding a solid partner that can exist with just makes that marathon easier and better. Don’t overthink it. You’re doing just fine

Girl! I was a wreck when I met my husband. I was out of a 6 year relationship that ended with a text from my ex boyfriend. I never saw him again. I was heartbroken and went into a severe depression and got bad anxiety from it. I was so scared to be hurt again. I ended up meeting my hubby and I was still so broken over what had happened and he loved me through my brokenness. God used my hubby to show me I wasn't going to be left and that he would be there for me in the bad and the good. I'm so thankful for him!!! Don't feel bad. I see it as a blessing for you. Men are supposed to be our caretakers and protectors. I really believe God is just showing you its possible to have someone who is that. He's there for you because he wants to be. 🥰 Anyway, keep showing us content you want to share. I love seeing it all and just truly enjoy your channel. At the end of the day you gotta love your job and I think filming what you want is vital to that. ❤

@@JesusAndLiliana While I'm not them, I agree with their statement. It depends on the people in the relationship. To some marriage is just a piece of paper. It is often hard to understand when things don't go as we've planned. Speaking from personal experience, God's plans are often different than ours and when unexpected things happen, it's good for us to remember that we can lean on Him. I had a broken engagement 10 days before my wedding, years later after I was married, my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer (and he's alive 21 years later! ) and 14 years ago, we adopted our youngest daughter from another country and were lied to about her disabilities which were actually much more severe than we were led to believe. There have been times I have been angry or in deep pain, but I have learned that as I submit to these changes, I find great joy. You have been through a lot and you're doing so well. It takes time to work through what you've been through...and God will be faithful.

So relatable and something I feel isn't touched on very often... just how long it can take your body to really heal from years of stress. Last year, I went through huge positive life changes after years of work/life/relationship stress. I remember being so upset because everything was going so well, but i still felt so intensely exhausted/anxious/irritable. I didn't really understand it until my therapist told me she'd be more concerned if I didn't 🙂 when everything in your life changes, you can keep telling your mind that you're in a safe and happy place now, but the body is often the last to catch up. I think it's great you've realized it's okay and necessary to rest and take your time healing! And also, I love seeing Jordy and the people in your life. If it feels like something you want to share in your heart, I say go for it!

A thought from a mother perspective…we don’t have control of all aspects of our life and the timing of things that happen in it. But this is one where you do. You do have control over taking the time to heal and be ready. Maybe that’s not what you want and maybe it’s what you need to hear or maybe not. But sometimes we over focus on the concept of letting go of control over things and stop taking control over things we do actually have control over.

one thing, even if you don't like the word trauma, that might help you understand the anxiety is that traumatic experiences can sensitize you to stress -- meaning you get stressed more easily. You may get stuck with your sympathetic nervous system activated putting you into the fight or flight mode all the time (anxiety is a result).

HI Michel, I just found you and I think you are unique and very beautiful inside and out I love your videos and how genuine you are, for the first time I found a youtube girl that really feel is helping what I am going through at the moment, I as well have been struggling with anxiety since 5 years now and is not fun at all it really helps to hear others stories or experience talking about it somehow it helps me, I am married 1 year and 5 months and for the first time I am having trouble with my husband, basically in part he doesn't understand my anxiety and for him is very easy to say stop taking that pill it might be that the reason of our issues...yeah! its unbelieveable how ignorant or cold people can be and say things like that, I am passing through a hard time in my relationship and also like you I am Christian an have a strong faith in God, I pray every day and go to church every weekend, but even though my husband and I have spoken to the priest ans my parents for guidedance I live with rare thoughts about future and starting to think what if this or that happens..... I need to be prepare.... I do love my partner but he is so negetive and uneasy lately that i try not to speak what i am thinking because it makes worse ....so I for now am try to avoid. I am bless to have my parents who really understand me and support me 100%. is the reason I can feel a little bit of peace and try to heal when husband is not here...I do understand what you say, i do too have the need of being alone in my own space and be for a time alone and out of social events....I also try to do what I want to do and that helps a lot, just to feel free and enjoy the present moment, i also live in california by the sea and love to take walks and just watch the ocean and also the surfers. I feel we have lots in common and I hope that the future for myself goes well I am very positive and whatever happens I know I will be fine, God is in my heart and that is where my inner happiness comes . fanny note, I went to Austin last December for a wedding, I like the Calmness of Texas. everything is very calm and less cahotic than cali, i like california but is very expensive to live and traffic insane people appears to be more aggresive when driving and that makes me feel anxious in part. My dream is to have a small ranch with horses and live life close to people that really cares for me. sorry for the long message, just wanted to thank you for sharing your thoughts and fun things that you love to do. I wish the best for you and many blessings. Jess

I've dealt with anxiety as well. My theory is: there is so much that happened all at once and for an extended period of time. Now you are getting to where you want to be, healing, etc...but your body is still in that fight/flight mode. It is fearful of what's next, how should you react, etc. Instead of just calming with the rest of your spirit. It takes time. But you will get there. You are doing the right things!

I think that sharing your family, friends, and relationship make your videos more dynamic versus just one point of view of you speaking to the camera. It is a part of showing your life and more of your personality as you mentioned. If you are having such strong emotions, it is important to listen to what your body is telling you. Anxiety doesn’t just go away unless you address the root cause issues which is not easy but necessary. Also, it is okay to take a break when needed even in a relationship and return when you are healthier and able to give all of yourself. Wishing you all the best!

I think the question of who/what to share on here is completely up to you. Your fans love you for you and I can speak only for myself when I sat that I dont mine seeing your every day and whoever/whatever that entails. It's like you giving an inside look into your life even more than you already do. So I would say that most of your fans wouldnt mind, but that would be a decision/boundary that you should probably decide early on. We love whatever you decide

God has perfect timing. It seems to me that Jordy has already been a part of your healing and can continue to be if you're willing to stay brave in being vulnerable with him. You'll never truly heal from the trauma in your past. But you learn to live with it and make better choices in the future because of it. And help others by sharing your experience which you're already doing. Thanks for sharing. This really resonated with me.

Hi Michel! I'm not sure if you will ever see this but I can relate to your comments about dating someone before you were "ready". I was engaged to someone and that engagement was cut off six months prior to the wedding because I found out that he was cheating as well as many other secrets. I met my now husband a month after that engagement ended. I was filled with shame and guilt for moving on "too fast". Now we've been married for ten years and together for eleven. I don't care about any of that stuff now and he helped me to heal. It wasn't perfect but relationships never are. I love your content, heart, personality, and love to see your adventures with Jordy!

Like you, I constantly feel blessed and grateful to have the amazing family that I do. I met my husband at 28 we were just friends for five years and we got married last year at 36. For me, I love watching your videos because I’m glad to see someone else succeeding in the world. You even make the best out of each situation when things aren’t always rosy 100% of the time. You should always share what you feel like sharing. I always enjoy seeing what you’re up to. It’s a nice break from life and work and the blessings around and in between that. Thank you for being you! ❤

I loved this chat!!🥰 I totally get the struggle with anxiety. Mine kicked in real hard after the trauma had ended, once I got out of survival mode. It was present all day, every day. And as time went by, it faded, slowly but I could feel myself getting more and more like myself as the months passed by. I ofc had ups and downs and still do, recovery is never a straight line🤷🏼‍♀️ My therapist often reminds me when trauma memorys come to mind or when my anxiety spikes, that it is so because I’m now in a place where my body, mind and soul can handle and deal with it. That I’m given a chance to heal that wound, and as hard and painful as it can be, I can see thruth in that. To look at it as a chance given for healing and growth🫶🏻 It’s so powerful watching your journey as I’m going thru mine, Thank you🙏🏼 Your videos are the highlight of my week❤️

My mum was sick for the past few months and passed away over the Christmas holidays…..I’m trying to sit with how I’m feeling and let it wash over me but my instinct is to run away even though I’ve tried this in the past and it only chases after you. It sounds like you are doing the right thing slowing down…..even though it can be incredibly uncomfortable and scary it’s the only way through in my experience. Love from the UK x

I love watching your videos. As someone that suffers from extreme social anxiety, I look at you as being a friend. One that shares the good, bad, and ugly in her life with me and lets me be part of it all. I didn't find your channel until last year, but I've enjoyed seeing the great things that happen, am sad when you go through difficult times, and feel your frustration when you are trying to figure something out. I live vicariously through you as you travel, and can't thank you enough for being willing to take us all along for the ride. Overshare to your hearts' content! As for Jordy, listen to him. If he ever becomes irritated with being on camera, or wants to share something with you but you have the camera going at the time, make sure that he knows you are listening and truly care about what he has to say. He's a great guy (from what I've seen) and I know he only has your best interest at heart. You deserve to be happy...and I think you are finally on your way to finding that happiness. I'm so happy for you and can't wait to see what happens next!

My hope for you is that you would feel the freedom to make the decisions that serve you now, in this season, and that you would give yourself the grace to change your mind once a previous decision no longer serves you. This includes your content, what you create, and how much you choose to share. I love getting a glimpse into your life and the people in it, but more than anything, I appreciate your vulnerability and wisdom as you're processing the struggles of the last few years. Hugs!

It sounds like you need more space and time to heal… let that be your priority. Relationships will always be there if they are meant to be🦋Healing takes time, go easy on yourself. To thine own self be true. In times of weakness we can some times allow others to dictate our path without realizing…that’s why it is so important to slow down and listen to that still small voice within…❤Lots of love to you, beautiful lady.🌷

You compel me to think. I just adore you! Any content from high energy to sad to car chats to sip and thrifts are always welcomed by me. I’ve thought about why I- a 51 year old mom- enjoys your content so much and it comes down to just that you’re a real one. You’re a genuine person who’s not afraid and getting even braver to put yourself out there and just be you. And I know it was more of a rhetorical statement but I love your fam and friends content and especially you with Jordy. He’s a good, real one too and it’s inspiring to see happiness after divorce. And keep mama and papa Janse coming!❤

I think you live your life and show what that is. Period. Do what feels good and feel natural...even if it's sharing it all, so what. Do what you love because life is too short to keep trying to please everyone else or walk on eggshells trying to do the perfect most acceptable thing. You do you sweetie and share whatever feels good and fun and let it be ok. Because it is. And I'll say that my favorite channels are always those who share pieces of their life when that's not what their channel is actually about...it adds so much depth and meaning to what they do...I think that's especially so for life channels.

Thank you Michel for sharing your thoughts with us. I am glad you have explored a nomadic life...but I think you are such a home maker. I think going back to having a home will centre you. You still have the flexibility to travel anywhere, anytime... With regards to Anxious thoughts, try to listen to praise/worship music as much as you can..that may help you redirect anxious thoughts into Gratitude thoughts. That on its own, has a calming effect. From a 50 year old woman, all I can say is..take it one day at a time. You are doing GREAT. You have great support system too. God bless you abundantly. ♥️

However, it's your channel, and it sounds like lots of people enjoy seeing Jordy involved. It's ultimately up to you (and Jordy) to choose how often he is present!

Something you said that struck me and also reminds me of me is that when I was your age I loved being constantly on the go as well and I think subconsciously ignoring things. I would numb in multiple different ways. Now having a constant “home” and place of respite is huge. Something to consider while dating someone who travels for work is how will that look in the long run? Will that create anxiety in you for that person to be there some and not be there some or will that feel nice to have space sometimes? Some things to think about. Understanding yourself and what triggers anxiety is really important. Particularly if you have been married to someone who was disloyal, will it create anxiety when they are not around?

I love seeing Jordy in your videos because I can see the love you share and your happiness, which is so important! Maybe your anxiety is because you don't know about your future. Since the pandemic, most people don't know what is in their future, whether they are young starting out in a job, middle aged, or retired. I am in the last group and I just try to take time for myself, do something healthy everyday, do fun things with my husband, spend time with my children and grand children, learn new things everyday, and get together with my friends and laugh. I feel very blessed and hope you can find your peace also.

Totally relate to your part about meeting your boyfriend before "your timeline" to heal and date. After going through a major life-threatening illness and a breakup, I had decided I wasn't going to date anyone until being fully healed from the trauma of it all. Well, the universe decided that I was going to meet the love of my life soon after (despite my internal timeline), and here we are 4 years later in love and looking for engagement rings. Sometimes the only right timing is divine timing. Try not to be so hard on yourself. 💕

I’m glad to hear you say that you are practicing letting go to God. As a much older woman, I can say that I was betrayed much like you when i was your age, and I really wanted to take time and “process” what I went through and try to get myself in a healthy place too… then God dropped my now husband of 21 years in my life. I just wasn’t really looking for love and yet there it was… a man that let me heal my heart by showing me love I had never experienced. I’m not saying don’t take the time you feel you need, but I am telling you don’t feel you have to just stick to some arbitrary time line you set… there is a reason why the saying goes you find love when you’re least looking for it. And I do believe in God’s timing and the blessings he sends us (including loving relationships). Best of luck as you continue on this journey of healing for you.

What you say makes perfect sense! After a breakup the only thing that helps me is to go constant. I can’t stop and I don’t want to because if you’re moving you are a moving target for your emotions and you can hope they won’t hit and then you don’t have to really feel them. It is a protection mechanism and it does cause severe anxiety.

That bushel is no longer hovering over you-deeming your light! God knew what you needed-who you needed-when you needed them! You could’ve missed that opportunity if you hadn’t allowed yourself to release control! Don’t over think or analyze the what ifs…Great opportunities and Blessings await! God lights our way -and his path leads to Great and Wonderful things!! I love how much you’ve grown and I love how much more alive you are! Jordy truly is a blessing-I’m excited to see y’all’s relationship grow-flourish!! Keep Shining Girl!!!
