I admire you, truly. I have no patience for 100% nowadays, especially in the era of open world games full of dreadful filler. But you do it every time, amazing! You have a lot of patience and passion, and we can see it in your videos. Keep up the good work, Sir, and happy 100% gaming! EDIT: Might I suggest a topic for a video? Backlogs. Do you have an extensive gaming backlog? How do you deal with it? I have SO MANY games still to play and I'll probably never manage to finish them lol

Yeah, Open World games certainly can be a chore. I've been slowly getting through Horizon: Zero Dawn. I don't have much time to play or complete games (or rather, I limit my time playing them per day), so a game like Horizon: Zero Dawn I only really want to complete once. That means getting all those difficult to find shards. Yes they're optional but they have little bits of lore in them. The non-lore stuff for some reason is shown on the map but not the shards, so I've had to look some of them up. If it was a first day release, I'd have a lot of trouble finding those shards, especially with the weather affects, which can really make it difficult to find them. In regard to backlog, most of my backlog are games I got for free on Epic Games Store, so I don't feel so bad about not ever playing them, let alone completing them because I didn't pay for them. However, my Steam Backlog I do feel more compelled to eventually complete and with their sales, I keep accumulating more Steam Games. I'm going to have to discipline myself and just not buy stuff in sales, unless it's under £3, or something.

Your unwavering commitment to always complete games to 100% is truly impressive. I cannot fathom playing the same game multiple times in a short span. Perhaps I could if was 17-18 years old younger, but now? I've even resorted to using cheat engines or trainers for many of the single player games I play and still couldn't achieve 100% completion. How do you avoid feeling burned out? I understand that combining a hobby with a job can actually be more demanding than just having a regular job.

Please don't ever "rush" to get a 100% review out, I would rather wait two weeks longer and see a review from someone that's actually truly finished the game, majority of reviewers these days only do the main story, maybe a tiny bit of side-content and then call it a day, some of them don't even finish the game if it's a long RPG. That's what sets you apart from the other reviewers and that's why we love your contentm

I love this channel so much. I recently found your content, and I’m on the binge. I have to agree about Skyrim difficulty, with the exception of Master difficulty, which was added many years after Skyrim’s release. It alters the game in the same way that the others do, but to such a drastic extent that it absolutely affects the way you approach (or don’t approach) fights, and it honestly feels like the most rewarding way to play Skyrim. Functionally, to achieve something resembling the dominance you were used to on Legendary, you pretty much have to min-max with crafting. I would agree, however, that this doesn’t fundamentally change any of the game’s systems, only how beefy your enemies are. This isn’t a nitpick, just an interesting point in a conversation topic that fascinates me.
@XoRandomGuyoX
@XoRandomGuyoX Жыл бұрын
Eh, you swapped the names I think, as Legendary was the later 'you deal 25% damage' difficulty. And, yeah, for the most part people found ways to spam crafting to fully suit up in enhanced gear to make Legendary feel like the old Master difficulty. Still, damage sliders aren't really that rewarding. It's also the reason I don't like the difficulty style of games like Nioh, where you hit an enemy 40 times but if they scratch you twice it's over.

I like aiming for 100%. It was actually what took me out of a bit of a slump (I didn't play anything for like a year and a half) and it gives me focus to stick with a game even if something I dislike turn's me off early in the game. It also helps me review them to a few friends that take my opinion to heart a lot of the time, so I like to look at everything a game has to offer if I'm going to recommend them to a friend or not. I also really like your point about not being in a hurry. When I started achievement hunting a few friends thought I was just ignoring the core of the game just for the feeling of dinging a new achievement, but nah. I actually take my time and usually take way more time than they themselves will take with the game.

You wouldn't have to replay the whole game, just to choose a different option after defeating the final Boss. Whether a game is new or not can make a difference in gameplay too. For example, in Elden Ring you used Hoarfrost Stomp because it was a 'room sweeper' in effectiveness. But then From Software nerfed it so you couldn't deal 2-6k damage to a group with every other stomp. Cyberpunk 2077 was like that too, since despite the glitches the devs nerfed a lot of stuff with their early patches.

I like to get 100% in games as well, but since I'm working full shift it sometimes takes me months to just complete the game normally (I usually play jrpgs). Planning stuff beforehand, checking how many hours it takes to beat a game and so on is a must for me. I got 100% only in a handful of titles as a result. But hey - I can play video games for approx. 10 hours a week and I'm happy about that.

My question is this: How do you prevent burnout? We have very similar tastes and some of the games can be quite exhausting to 100% (like the Pathfinder games or any other long campaign games). I find myself 1/2 to 3/4 through a new play through and lose steam.

I get paid for it for starters, so that helps. I also play games I'm actually interested in and try to hop around genres so I dont play a lot of the same type of stuff all the time. Stopping to make the videos also helps break it up a bit actually.

Greetings, on games like Pathfinder, DoS2, do you play a bit as every class/multi class combination? If not how do you evaluate the other classes. Love your vids, glad to see the channelhas picked up steam!

Can’t even imagine how long this would take for pathfinder lol… but seems he may have enough hours in that game for it to be possible

He should have a video explaining what the 100% completion entails. For a game like one of the Pathfinder entries, it would take a LOOONG time to try every class and subclass combination. There tends to be overlap too, e.g. this subclass introduces sneak attack damage, this subclass adds some casting, etc.

DOS2 yeah I've played just about everything you could do class wise. Multiple characters across probably a dozen runs. Pathfinder is an interesting case where between playing the tabletop and the game I have played most of them but with Pathfinders classes often sharing features and turning those into hybrid classes etc you start to get a feel for what the features are capable of which can inform a lot of your class decisions. I wouldn't claim to have played every permutation but I've played all the classes and done a great deal of tinkering and multiclassing etc. I usually just try to get to a point where I'm comfortable using all of it.

How do you deal with gaming burnout ? I know for me, playing as much as you (8-10 hours a day) I'd get burned out real quickly.

Dicipline. Dont sacrefice your sleepingpattern. Work out every day, even if its only taking long walks. No energydrinks and be careful about what you eat. Trust me, it makes ALL the difference

I love playing games, and I also get paid for it is the biggest part I'd say. Also I try to switch up genres and things like that so I'm not playing the exact same type of game back to back. Making these videos also helps break it up a bit.

Do you look up missable achievements in games before your first playthrough?
@MortismalGaming

Older games, yeah usually I'll do it a bit of research into that kind of thing. New ones it's kind of whatever happens happens as there isnt a ton of info about missable stuff right away
