Great video! However I don’t understand how NU pays you to attend. Can you explain that a bit more

@@Lee-S22 Isn’t it need based aid? So shouldn’t she not get more than she needs

@@hareshwedanayake7427 Room and board is part of the cost of attendance. But since I live in an apartment off campus, northwestern deposits money in my bank account to help cover those costs. Does that answer your question?

@@lucywbeck Oh alright I got it. So the extra money they pay you is used to cover the cost of you living off campus?

I am an incoming class of 2026 transfer student at Northwestern. I will be studying at SESP. I got accepted on May 24th. I was wondering if you could make a video explaining the housing situation for transfer students. Is there any way to guarantee or apply for a single. Also, has living in a single made it difficult to get to know a lot of people. Lastly, are there any social media pages or websites where you can meet other incoming transfer students/find roommates? Thanks so much.

Hi! Congrats on your acceptance! Housing for transfer students is the same process for first years. I don’t think there’s a way to guarantee a single. For example, I only requested singles but I got a double. So I had to convince someone with a single to switch with me. I don’t think living in a single makes it difficult to get to know a lot people but sometimes I did wish I had a roommate to go to events to. I joined a Facebook group to meet other incoming transfer students/find roommates. I hope that helps!

Make sure to submit your application to NU and complete your fafsa and css profile like I described in my video!

That’s nice - we didn’t get offered any financial aid for NU.

I'm sorry to hear that. You can try to appeal if you believe that your financial aid award did not fully consider your individual circumstances.
