@@jacobs5546 Yes, I know Eevee didn't know it. But there's a guy in the Pokemon center at cerulean who can teach Eevee the electric move. Since Eevee also had sizzly slide, they could have temporarily replaced that with buzzy buzz, then gotten back the fire move after the gym. Also, I don't particularly care about how to spell a fictional character that existed for one video's name.

I recently watched a video about logically explaining every type matchup. The reason Dark is super effective against Ghost is because Ghosts won't pass on to the afterlife peacefully if they died because of evil actions. I ligit think I have never seen two friendship survivals in a row. What a clutch Giovanni battle. I hope Lizzy returns in later Pokemon playthroughs. This will be easier in other Pokemon games. Just don't try Legends Arceus. There is no way that one's possible.

Eevee is so busted. I personally run the special Grass, Water, Fire, and Fairy moves. The extra effects, being free healing, health steal, guaranteed burn, and party wide destatus, in that order, combine so well.

As a pokemon veteran, gotta say that almost every game is beatable with just the starter, so this is the least challenge-y challenge to ever challenge. However, you made the video really fun regardless, so kudos to that.

Except that other Pokemon games don't have requirements like "have a grass or water type Pokemon" or "register 50 Pokemon in your Pokedex" to enter gyms, and if you can't get past an area and need to level up, you can infinitely battle wild Pokemon, or sometimes even rematch trainers, instead of having to run around until you find a trainer you haven't beaten, or fight whomever you are stuck on over and over and over. Not to mention solo challenge runs often let you catch other Pokemon as needed, for the purposes of HM usage or, in some cases, catching a legendary to progress the plot. In a game where you cannot rebattle trainers, wild Pokemon are catch only, with a handful of exceptions, and you have some requirements of having certain numbers of Pokemon or ones of certain types, a "no catch" run is more tricky in terms of figuring out how, to the point where if that Mew wasn't available, the run probably would have been impossible or minimum catches instead. In comparison, a solo run doesn't have as many work arounds to figure out. That's not to say the battles themselves aren't harder, it just requires more planning.

This challenge will still be possible if you don't count getting a pokemon from pokemon go as catching! It isn't caught in lets go thus your lets go character isn't breaking the "no catching" rules.

@@testerwulf3357 To bring Pokémon from GO into Let's Go, you unfortunately have to reach Fuchsia City first, as I recall. So that would make Koga's Gym easier to get into without having to bother with trading, but the double Mew would still be a necessity before then, I think.

When Let’s Go came out I wanted to try to do a nuzlock, only catching the first Pokémon on each route. This looks so much harder than even that

To be honest, I'd prefer this challenge to a nuzlocke. Catching Pokemon is THE main way of gaining experience in these games, and even though you _can_ catch Pokemon in a nuzlocke, you can only catch ONE per route, and in a nuzlocke, you have to be worried about fainting and blacking out due to being underleveled, whereas in the no catching challenge you don't.

One thing I'm surprised to not have seen you utilize is the benefits of the Pokeball plus, _aside_ from Mew. After all, you bought TWO for this challenge, and you can gain experience and useful items from strolling with a Pokemon. I'm not sure if these benefits would be as useful in a Sw/Sh playthrough of this challenge, but the Pokeball Plus does grant benefits in those games, too, if you decide to do a Sw/Sh no catching playthrough.

I did this challenge 2 years ago, and here's what I did. I forbade leveling up on catching wild Pokemon, so to reduce experience from the catch of the grass type for Brock, I caught a lvl 3 Caterpie while missing the first catch, and making sure to get no catch bonus aside from "first catch". I then temporarily boxed Pikachu so I could catch an Oddish and get into the gym. I then swapped Caterpie and Oddish with Pikachu, and headed back to Viridian to take on the rival. Since the rival was the only trainer with 2 Pokemon, I beat his Pidgey and lost to his Eevee intentionally until Pikachu leveled up enough to learn Double Kick. I used a similar catching strategy to get into Koga's gym, and forbade the use of Mew to make the challenge harder

If you don’t count forced catches you can technically beat any mainline Pokemon game with out caching anything if you are lucky enough with doges and you play smart

@@alexisdipoalo9443 No, not at all. In fact, in other games its much easier. This one has the tricky requirements of needing a grass or water type and 50 total Pokemon (in the Pokedex). Solo runs have been done for lots of other Pokemon games, and with grinding being easier in other games, thanks to being able to battle wild Pokemon as well as trainers you can rematch or areas you can battle in infinitely, no matter your starter you can manage with gift Pokemon and trading. Even dealing with HMs isn't an issue, since there are many options for gift Pokemon you can trade away or possibly even breed and trade away to get something you can teach the HMs to, and newer Pokemon games have been replacing HMs entirely. Solo runs do have the issue of Tate and Liza in gen 3 (you need 2 Pokemon on your team or you can't even battle them), which might also be an issue for Raihan in gen 8 (I know he's a double battle too but idk if he has the same restriction), but this isn't a solo run so gift Pokemon solve that issue.
