Pokemon Challenges says it best, nuzloke rules are arbitrary and self imposed, if you play the game and choose to do something for your own entertainment that does not make the run invalid. With the limitations you do not overly cheat.

Re taking Beldum and a Hoenn starter - I wish Drayano just put Beldum somewhere else because I also love the Hoenn region - I think easiest way to balance this is to not take one of the extra starters you get elsewhere - I'd probably skip the Johto starter choice. I've also done runs of RP where I take all the 3 hoenn starters and the beldum and box away my original starter and dont take any of the other gift starters!

I know this is late but start in Fire Red or Leaf Green. By far the easiest game to start a nuzlocke in.

Holy moly. The gifted gen3 starter does in no way make the run invalid looking at all the other things you banned. I watched Drxx beating it deathless and he didnt ban weather for example, which is HUGE.

I never thought of that! I will say that there are a few caveats to this though: a prerequisite for Blissey is you need a Starly dupe which isn’t always guaranteed, and Torterra and Gliscor might not get the right abilities
