Just like Gelongma is Gelong, Geshema is also Geshe. Geshema literally means female Geshe. Does it sounds less of Geshe; no if you know how the rule of language works. Since there is something to compare against, it has to be naturally formed that way which has no implications of discrimination at all.

Which language are you referring to? Why don’t we call Geshepa for male Geshe?
