I am a PhD student in mechanical engineering and my studies pertain to chemical engineering and electrical engineering. Recently, I discovered that I am really interested in learning Python. I have already started to learn the basics of Python and I am now looking for ways to gain more knowledge and experience with the language. I am eager to explore the possibilities of using Python in my research and am looking for opportunities to apply it in the engineering field. Congrats with you current job, Dr Alana.

I think it is always hard trying to make a career change especially from academia to industry. There are a lot of preconcieved notions about why you might be applying and if you really have the skills to make it. I am also autistic, so it makes things like networking to find jobs very difficult for me. I hope that this video can give other researchers a realistic look on how they can make the switch! :)
