Racism is real especially in Germany.same story with my son. Went to a Medical school. He was the only black student. Imagine being discriminated mpaka you can't ask the lectures a Question.. When he left class to where he stayed he was being bullied and threatened . Being called names like you black monkey etc. He almost gave up, he would call me often and very depressed. 😮 I used to encourage him everytime and always pray for him not to give up. Fast forward he graduated and God blessed him with the best job ever!!!

Harun, your experience reminds me of a question my father was asked while studying for a Law degree in UK in late 50s early 60s. He was in a restaurant with colleagues and he ordered for chicken. Being Kenyan he ate the chicken and crushed the bones. One looked at him as he crushed the chicken bones. After a while the whiteman asked him " In your country, when you eat chicken bones, what do the dogs eat?" My father looked at him straight in the eye and told him - they eat ice-cream. That was the last time he was asked stupid questions. His answer earned him respect henceforth. Congratulations for your achievements.

I can attest to what the gentleman is saying. I am currently doing a PhD in Europe. I therefore, get to work as an assistant, teaching two subjects each year. In my classes, there are local students, and two groups of foreigners. The first group are Italians, Spanish, and Portuguese who are on Erasmus scholarship. The second group of foreigners consist of mostly Africans, Arabs and Indians. When it comes to group work, you can easily guess how my classes form groups 😂😂😂 Bear in mind that I did my masters at the same university 5 years ago and experienced the same. I did all my groupwork mostly with Congolese, Indian and Turkish brothers while locals kept to themselves. But, we don't give a f*, as you can see, am teaching all locals and all foreigners. As a Luhya, I studied my Bsc at Jkuat and did my internships in Mwea. I experienced discrimination at the hand of locals in Mwea and Wanguru when they realized I didn't speak Kikuyu. For me, there is no difference between the descrimination I experienced in Mwea and in Europe. However, I chose not to have a victim mentality. My attitude has always been that we should never derive our self-worth from what others think of us. We should carry our self-worth in our hearts and continue excelling.

I have got so much stress lately from my my ex employee when I left them I went to this other company where they had to call them and now everyone at my new job is treating me like I’m unreasonable! I don’t know if these type of things happen in africa but working in European countries isn’t that easy. As he said some people want us to worship them and I can’t I believe in equality! When you’re dealing with these white people you just act like a fool knowing what you want. Time is essential. Congratulations to him. Now the sad part is if he’s to relocate to America, he has to take their boards in order to get licensed after all he’s been through because if it’s not American it’s not good enough.

That's the issue with Africa and Africans. We do not support each other in businesses. Africans will only support one when it comes to parties and other socials but never come together for economic growth..

Very good details of a struggle & triumph of life in Europe. The young doctor is now reaping the benefits of his hard work. Europe is tough but focus is keep but is is very doable, I relate when he says working during the holidays. But God is good & amazing

Thank you for your work and God has blessed you and you're trying to invest in your country. Im a retired nurse, midwife, health visitor in UK. Also got a degree I psychology. My area is to help children with disabilities. Advise parents on how they can help their child. But I was told that to register in Zim I have to work with a psychologist who assesses children. But what I found is that they don't assess children the way I had been trained on assessing children, their development. I did this job for twenty six years. There's a system of blocking people from the diaspora. Yet children with disabilities suffer from lack of continuity at home if the parents can afford to pay privately. Stay blessed.
