I am a single mother who wanted a good job for my son. I was tired of the min. wage jobs I was getting. I started learning code last week and I love it. I am learning myself by free online courses. I'm so greatful to find something I care about and after my son goes to bed I want to sit down and code for hours. I hope this helps me land a good job finally

Thank You. I really needed to see this. I worked as a network administrator for eight years that i truly enjoyed, but knew that i wanted to break off into my own path. I've been back and forth with coding aspects of Java, Python, CSS....and like you, i found myself not as driven as i first set out to be. So coding has always been something i knew i ultimately was going to venture into but i just couldn't put my finger on which type of coding i wanted to do. Watching this video of your journey to accomplishing your goal through CodeCademy sparked that drive that i needed to start this journey. And this time...I will finish the journey!! Again, thank you!

I speak Portuguese. This is how I commenced mastering Computer languages. First . I start with: 1. HTML and CSS 2. Python 3. JavaScript 4. PHP 5. Perl 6. Java 7. C# In addition, everything is going excellent ... I went to public college and I had hard time to learn coding . When I took a year off. I mastered coding on my own. I decided to go back to college and graduated in 2018. At the moment , I major in Computer science with a double minors in Economics and French at public university in Canada. Additionally , I contain a few certifications( A +( Hardware and Software), Network +( TCP/IP), Cisco, Security+ , MCSE, MCSD, MCSA, and SQL Server 2016) In short, practice , practice and practice. 1 1 1 Ancaster , Ontario Canada

Well this video came into my feed in an interesting time. I just quit my job (after 10 years) and ditched my apartment to live like a... well student I guess, and sacrificing pretty much everything to get into coding, with codecademy as my main course for all the basics I need for front end developing :) There is no turning back now, all or nothing. here we go. Your video did calm me a bit though, feels good to know it's doable.

How’s it going now Jonathan? I also left my career of 10+ years and took a semester of programming now hopped on codecademy pro a month ago and finished html, css, and JavaScript! Now almost done with intermediate JavaScript then onto command line, Git, and then to finish the full stack developer course!
@Jonathan-lg1xw

@@ToddsDiscGolf Well, all things considered, its going well at the moment. I’m starting to get a good grasp of javascript and all it’s concepts. I have played around a lot with github, node.js, and some API calls. I’m doing the front end path on CodeCademy and it’s fun! With that said, there has also been moments where I feel like maybe this is not for me, then I solve the problem and feel empowered again :p I’ve learnt that if I just break down the problems and solve one line at the time, it works out in the end :)

@@KimComplete Well, I just finished my first month as a front-end developer 😁 It was the second job I applied for, and somehow I ended up developing mobile applications in react native. But it's fun and I'm learning so much everyday right now! I also already made my first major f---up relating to a big release :) So basically I ended up only doing about 60% of the course on codecademy, then I started solving "real" problems from mock assignments my developer friend gave me. And I think that really boosted my debugging and developing skills to get me ready for the real world. Anyways I made it! And thanks for giving me inspiration through the darker times 😊 I have learned that I'm not alone thinking maybe this isn't for me, maybe I'm just not smart enough etc. Perseverance is key. Btw, if anyone is wondering, the learning process took about 6,5 months before I felt ready to apply for jobs. Well actually I didn't feel ready, but I felt I couldn't really learn any more effectively without actually working with it . I must also say that codecademy really taught me really good lessons, aside from coding. Like using git, branching, coding conventions, how to think when solving problems and other stuff that would really stall you otherwise when you start working in a team of other coders.

@adrianbalasa4039
@adrianbalasa4039 4 жыл бұрын
Cantari Crestine Sunt nou in domeniu, am inceput sa studiez de 2 luni insa nu aloc un anumit numar de ore in fiecare zi. Sunt zile in care pot invata 2-3 ore, sunt zile in care nu invat deloc, pentru ca si lucrez (domeniu diferit). Tu esti deja in domeniu? Ai inceput sa practici?
