Great video! I started coding when I bought my first course for programming on October 2nd last year, Automate the Boring Stuff with Python. I learned HTML/CSS in starting mid-November. Then I hopped back into python, not knowing what direction I was going to go in. The last week of december, on December 23rd I chose to take it serious and go the web dev route self-taught. Learned JavaScript by New Years (I was GRINDING that whole week lmfao, 5-8 hours a day), had some vacation for a week, then hopped into React with Brad Traversy's udemy React Front to Back Course the second week of January. I learned what I needed in a week and half - two weeks, and then stopped the course and went to build my own projects. I feel like this is why I was able to learn JS and React so quickly or programming concepts in general, as soon as an instructor teaches us something, I try to recreate it and tinker on my own, not just copy word for word. After taking 4-5 weeks I made my 2 react projects, made my portfolio website in a week. Then I started applying. I applied to one on 2/26, in total I applied to like 20-30 postings, only one called me for an interview. It was 2 weeks after applying there, so I thought I got brushed over. Before that, I had learned SQL, NodeJS, Express, and TypeScript. Wasn't as good as I am now, but I was well versed in these and picked them up quickly. Passed the HR interview, passed the "technical" that was just a portfolio review with the senior software engineer and ui/ux designer of my react projects + got to sneak in my fullstack project which they were really interested in, especially since its a react frontend position and i had a lot of their "nice to haves" with knowing the backend. Then I had an interview with 2 executives, had a proper coding interview with the senior SWE and ui/ux designer, and I just had the final interview speaking about compensation, salary, bonuses, etc with the execs. I did have to pressure them, because it's been a month, as I "got another offer and need to answer by tuesday" lol but they rushed for that interview today. The way they were speaking, "when HR contacts you", "then you'll do a drug test", "we'll send you an offer", "you'd start in may".... i think i have the job secured. I should be getting the offer on Monday. 4.5 months from mid-November until now, the first week of April. They have been dragging this process out a month I figured out today was because they wanted me to start in May not now, but otherwise I would have been done with this some weeks back lol. 5.5 months from my first line of code.

BUT I’m stuck on something in the coding Udemy class, so I’m going to get a book on Python coding…I don’t want to quit, because I can not reach the instructor of the class.
