The problem I found with non-denominational, "community" Christian churches is that they did not teach morality at all. Just a bunch of rock & roll concerts and self-help sermons. The structure and moral teachings of Catholicism is what drew me to it. Plus, there's just this ancient Chrisitan wisdom in The Church that can't be found at your local Church of Christ.

Elliot, I am 24 and have been subscribed to you since I was 16. It makes me so happy to see that you have found truth and beauty in the Catholic faith! In my formative years, I listened to you and grew to love wisdom and mysticism in your New Age videos and even did a presentation in college on binaural beats haha. But, as you said, it was an empty path. In the middle of my college years, I became overwhelmed by my sin and lack of sense of purpose and self. I, too, begged God one night for relief and freedom, and I was given the grace to abandon (slowly) my desire for self indulgence and received the strength after many failed attempts to go to Confession. It was the most joyful and illuminating experience of my life. I felt compelled to tell you this because I know you will be attacked and criticized for expressing your faith openly especially with the platform you have. There are many paths to grow in faith and your relationship with Jesus, but I have found that the Rosary and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament the most transformative. Who best to go to then the mother of Christ to learn the mysteries of His being and the extent of His mercy and love for us. God can be like the sun, blinding and hard to look at it while Mary is like the moon, a beautiful reflection of the sun and much easier to spend a lot of time in her presence. And the belief in the true presence in the Eucharist is one of the hardest to take for many, so why not spend as much time as you can in front of Him to experience the grace of his true presence and transformative heart. I pray that you consider (if you haven't already) to add these to your prayer routine. Lastly, I know you love charismatic speakers, so please look up Bishop Fulton Sheen's 50 lesson Catechism. It is better to listen and read at the same time since he is such a powerful speaker. I believe it will be so helpful for you especially if you start a Catechism channel. God Bless You!

When I became a Christian @17 years old I was introduced to Protestant/Charismatic Church. I even eventually went to seminary and became a missionary to another country. Because of some very personal experiences I pulled away from the Church and started questioning lots of things. I started to read lots of Eastern Orthodox material, like Elliott I got my hands on the E.Orthodox study Bible and was flabbergasted that I never heard about Patristic Father's before. Very excited to learn more on Catholicism.

Sacrament of confession? for what? Only God/Jesus can forgive your sins. @@dirks6796 Not only have I heard it, I also did bioenergetics myself (went to school where I got educated about it and practiced it) and help others do it (sort of like what Elliott did). It's the occult knowledge, and altough it might help at the given moment or for a longer period of time, what "helps" you is not coming from the God. When you practice bioenergetics, it invites evil spirits in your body. They will make you think, feel and sense that you are now better or healed, but make your life a chaotic mess after. There are also some other occult practices that I believe have some great power or truth to it (like bioenergetics), but i chose to develop enough humility in myself to conciously decide not to practise them. I look at bioenergetics as the "forbidden fruit" that is available to me, it promises me to become like god myself (heal myself without God, like I have that power), but it is against God to consume it. God knows why he forbids us to practice all occult knowledge that is there. Perhaps because we don't know the whole truth behind it or can't comprehend it, or that we are imperfect enough to hold such power or responsibility. But whatever His reason is, I know it's for our own good. He is a good Father so I chose to listen to His Word, and he forbids us to practice the occult including bioenergetics as a form of it. I hope and pray that Elliot will delete his videos about bioenergetics and tell you guys to go to the Holy Confession where you will admit that you did bionergetics, hear what your priest will tell you and hopefully repent that as it is a very hard sin with hard concequences for your life here and afterlife up there.

it was the State that put Jesus on the cross... but back then the State also had a self interest in appeasing the religious ruling class because they are deeply rooted in and had a huge influence on the people of Israel... the Jewish leaders demanded of the Romans that Jesus be put to death because they couldn't allow him to threaten their place and position in the religious society they dominated. The people who shouted "Crucify him!" were also complicit. So in fact the murder of Jesus was a conspiracy involving Rome, Herod, the Jewish Leaders, & the People of Israel.

I became an atheist at 17, and 15 years later, I've just become a Catholic. There's something to it. No pressure to convert, if your current Christian faith fulfills your spiritual needs, but I'd recommend listening to some Bishop Robert Barron, speaking with someone truly knowledgeable, delving into the catechism a bit, and leaving protestant's primary points of contention for later -- e.g. transubstantiation and immaculate conception.

Bruh this is the same conversion for me. My conscience was illuminated and i wrote the long list of my sins and went to confession and cried as well. I started going to traditional latin mass this year and starting to dress modestly as a lady! You should start watching Dr. Taylor Marshall and Sensus Fidelum. I went through a similar journey, but brought up protestant. My journey to the Catholic faith was from reading the early church fathers, especially St. Ignatius of Antioch. He studied under the Apostle John and St. Peter. He warned about schism, being disobedient to the bishops. It was life-changing. The water runs the purest at the base of the spring. I became Catholic in 2015, best thing I ever did!

I work at a homeless shelter in Tampa as a Case Manager. This is exactly what I need to hear today. I as well was a seeker. I recently became a Catholic as well. In RCIA (adult catechism) we learn that the "c" is lower case in the "one catholic and apastolic church" in the Nicean and Apostle's Creed because "catholic" here means "universal", and it does not exclude protestants. I think it's also related to the idea that they recognize baptism from any denomination, as long as it was done "in the name of the father, son, and holy ghost/spirit." I was raised a southern baptist/non-denominational, turned atheist at 17 and came back to a vague "agreement" with generic faith oriented at Christianity 15 years later in 2017, and started going to a Second Chapter of Acts model church. I met my wonderful lady later that year, and she was a lifelong Catholic, so I dove in. I also recognized the rich history and traditions, sacraments, etc, the "things to do" as Elliott says, and have found great value in that as someone who struggles with fostering the "feelings" the protestant vein I was raised in focus on so heavily. I get more value from practicing faith than chasing feelings. The Cathecism book itself is amazingly thourough and a great authoritative reference on the Bible/faith. I must admit I don't agree with all of it, but I respect it and defer to it. Protestant's will find little (proportionally) to disagree with as well, and much more clarity for their own faith. Anyway, found this recount of Elliott's faith very interesting, having watched him for years and mostly perceiving him to have lost his mind in many of his latest videos lol...

I remember you from EONS ago when your channel was specifically about fitness, giving advice on how to be a (worldly) man, etc., and I remember you touching on faith back when I think you espoused a more New Age form of spirituality. I've completely lost touch with your channel for probably 10 years or so if I'm being honest, and what a beautiful thing to see you revert back to the Catholic faith. I don't know how I got back here today, but I started seeing thumbnails of your videos with Dr. Taylor Marshall, Patrick Coffin, and other Catholic people and I was like "What the heck is going on, is Elliott Hulse Catholic?!?!?!" I was pleasantly surprised. God is truly amazing in how He works to draw people back to him, and now you know your faith is true, because you've experienced them all, and this made you stay. God bless you in your journey, brother. I also go to the "Church of Nice", and like you, I just tell myself that even a rusty hammer can drive nails in. As long as the Eucharist is validly consecrated, it's enough for me.

I have much respect to people on their spiritual journey and I’m currently in a place where I guess I practice new age/paganism practices but it’s because it feels true to me. I don’t dabble in all things occult though, I think spiritually needs to be treaded with caution in both Occult, Christianity and others. I’m glad you’ve found peace in this current stage in your life being Catholic. I personally do not put myself into any box and allow my discernment to guide me. I remember when you came out full new age. At that time I was beginning to rediscover my Catholic faith, and I remember thinking, man, he’s so close, just a little more. Little did I know, how far I too was. I’m still far, far away, and I’m sure you’ll admit to the same, but it feels good to see somebody that I looked up to in my youth coming home. Looking back, the 2010s, especially around 2015-16, feel like a time of reaping. There were so many seeds scattered, and in retrospect it all makes sense. Kind of rambling here, but I’m just glad you found your way. I’ll pray for you and I hope, if you see this, that you’ll pray for me. As a side note, I remember you saying in one of your videos how you liked the bahai faith because you saw people of all backgrounds together in worship, as opposed to Christian churches where you’d see only white, only black, etc. and I thought to myself, has he been to a Catholic Church? Hello Elliott. I saw the video about the rise and fall and have watched a videos which I hadn't done in many years. I started watching around the Yo Elliot Era or sometime before. You started talking about osho and I read a book or 2 and thought to myself, my family is catholic why am I researching these things. I returned to the church 13 or so years ago and it was the best thing I've ever done. I will most likely start watch you again given your outlook on life now. You motivated me to try personal training which didn't work out but I did start this KZbin channel that eventually turned more Catholic. I haven't made videos in a long time but have wanted to start up again. It's funny you want to make a channel of the catechism because that thought popped in my head the other day. Either way good luck on your journey I'll most likely be watching again.

@@breatheeasily4013 If you reject Christ's Church and you believe you "only need your bible", you are a Protestant. Who do you think compiled the books of the Bible? The canon was decided in 382 by the Catholic Church. The only reason you have a bible today is because the Catholic Church preserved it for all those years. Also St Paul commands that you hold to the traditions, not just scripture (2 Thessalonians 2:15). These traditions come from the Catholic Church, the only Church directly traceable back to the Apostles, who were the first Catholic bishops.

Elliott. I was born again before I had even opened a bible or stepped foot in a church. My best friend Joshua had always preached to me about his faith and I never took him seriously. Then we had this really great roomate Jason who I found on craigslist who would preach and sing with his guitar. We had a falling out and I encountered the Holy spirit with him while we were crying like little girls in the kitchen and I was born again. I still struggle with some things. I sometimes get frustrated because I have trouble articulating myself and communicating, most likely from fapping and smoking so much pot throughout my early developmental years. I wanted to give up and end it so many times. Still have the thoughts, and everytime it's my faith in Jesus that keeps me from the ledge.

Stay away from schismatic Catholics. It would be a shame to have found your way to Christ’s Church to not end up in full communion. Yes, the Church is troubled and going thru a passion, as you recognize, but don’t lose your way. The TLM is great so go with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP). They are a community in full communion with Rome that broke away from the SSPX. They’re down in Sarasota (Christ the King Catholic Church; 1900 Meadowood St.; Sarasota, FL 34231). I am so happy for you brother. God’s is always greater (Deus semper maior) than we can imagine. Your conversion, which is, above all His initiative, is proof that he loves you more than you can imagine (cf. 1 Cor. 2:9). Oremus pro invicem.

When Jesus was preaching to the Apostles who were getting ready to preach the Gospel to the whole world notice what Jesus says. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬ He never said, Buddah is the way, he never said I know the way, he never said Hinduism is the way. He said I AM THE WAY. And backed it up. He talked the talk and walked the walk proving it with many miracles, his death and resurrection on the cross. He also fulfilled over 300+ prophecies of the messiah that was in the Old Testament from the Prophets! The reason Christ had to die for us was because we are all disconnected from God and have a sinful nature. When we sin we are disobeying our Heavenly Father and we have all sinned. When one sins they are giving a foothold to the Devil where he can convince you that “Oh it’s ok, God will forgive you” or “It’s only one time” These are the voices of the Devil and his Demons! Sin is a big deal! But there is Hope. In the Bible it says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans‬ ‭6:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬. With Christ there is hope he made a way to Heaven through him, he was the perfect sacrifice for you! Anyone can receive Christ that’s the good news! The Gospel! You can be saved and Have eternal life in Heaven! Pray and ask the Lord into your life, let him know you have sinned and done many bad things against him. Repent and turn away from your sins! And start living for him! Life here on earth is so temporary! But Heaven is eternal 🙏 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

No of course they are. Jesus died for all of mankind's sins to be washed away. The babies who are killed in the womb inherit the kingdom having never heard of Jesus name. The holy spirit is in everyone since Christ sacrificed himself and rose to heaven. You dont need church, you don't need the bible to be saved/ born again. But once you encounter the Holy spirit you end up seeking out others who believe and want to learn more about the gospel

I am a protestant Christian, that is the church I grew up in and Christ is undeniably my Saviour. Something I'm struggling with is the Bible being enough, I think my fellow believers are close minded, that there is so much more to God than in the pages of the Bible. My husband things I'm a blasphemer and I am at a cross road in my faith. I've never felt so lost before. I want to be obedient but there is so much unrest with my spirit about all this. Any recommendations to read up on or revelations would be appreciated brothers and sisters (other than what Elliott mentioned) thank you

I was raised catholic, started smoking weed and drinking at age 13, I’m 33 now. It wasn’t until I found Cole Robinson and began fasting to heal old injuries that Christ called me to get sober and come back to him. Amazing to hear have similar experiences! Elliot same thing for me. I’m 22. A lot of Buddhism, astral projecting, lucid dreaming and delving into these things. I still miss it. I am confused, but when I was setting a new stage in life a while back I asked myself if that’s who I wanted to be. I questioned if astral projecting and types of spirituality are reality. I would rather not be up in the clouds and thinking about past lives. I would rather be here and focus on the physical realm of being. One of the biggest reasons for this is my 4 year old daughter. I see you and want to embody Being strong, being here and present and focusing on what I can feel hear see. Strangely enough this is when I transitioned to Christianity because to me God is the only one that is a bridge between physical mental and spiritual. Your forbidden fruit analogy is amazing. I have not felt as at peace yet, I remember being so happy when I was 18/19 and practicing Buddhism and all of the other spiritual things. I feel more mature and stronger. But less fulfilled. I was a poker player, and switched to a personal trainer. Now I am filled with immense guilt when I gamble or host a game. I continue to do it, and I have not enjoyed training as much as I have poker. Not even close. But the guilt almost ruins poker. I wanted to be a poker player since I was a kid, and grew up watching it instead of cartoons. My parents used to call me the poker hound cause I would beg them to play poker. I know gambling is forbidden. I’ve spent my whole life telling myself I’ll play poker and at age 18 I got a fake ID and hit the ground running at first semi pro and then quitting my job for poker. Even after two years of personal training, I return to poker as a livelihood when my gym is shut down due to COVID. I find myself not wanting to go back to training.
