I'm starting the game dev journey too. I'm working through Unity, blender and all nuances of beginner coding. Work flow really helps out with the overwhelming feels. Thanks for the tips and chill vibes. What kind of lamp is that?

Great videos! What taught me English was a fun and addicting videogame called Runescape. Started playing when I was 11, and within a year I had built up quite the vocab. The vast in game world and interaction with the other players did the trick. Putting together basic sentences etc. Right now looking for a videogame to learn Spanish, but haven't really found anything engaging yet.

awesome vid, yea gamedev is tough as its easy to get stuck in a loop of just watching tutorials or seeing how someone else does something so you dont mess anything up. The thing is, that mistakes are one of the best ways to teach you. That being said a famous quote i say wayyyy too often is 'you dont have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great"

@@jamie_dev are you using the free version? If so, is it enough for your work? Is it better than just manually making one in photoshop?
Do you use Davinci Resolve for editing? I ask because I see weird glitchy pixelation between scene cuts. I had the same problem in my own devlogs for the longest time and I don't want you to have the same struggle! To fix it, go to the 'Deliver' tab and under the render settings click on File then scroll down to Render Speed. Change from Maximum to 50, this worked great for me and didn't hurt the render time much at all. You can experiment with this setting to find whats best for you! I hope this helps!

thanks for the tip, I actually used premiere for this video. Usually I use my windows desktop to make videos but I had to do this one on my macbook, and that started to cause those problems 😢 I think I'll just stick with final cut pro when i'm working with a mac

Just remember "No battle plan survives contact with the enemy." In other words, don't push yourself to follow the plan to the letter. You might need to scale back or even scale up if you are confident. As you start fleshing out the mechanics you will invariably get more ideas. Also, one trap I fell into was coding too much at once, especially for complex systems. Be sure to test systems in parts as you create them, it saves a ton of time later. Good luck!
