Been watching your videos and man they have answered a lot of questions I’m planning on doing the body work on my 63 Tbird this summer I was scared to do it but this has given a lot of confidence watching what you do. I was stumped for awhile... cheers man 🍻

Like the other commenters I do not find this boring at all mate. Until you have gone through this process you can't really appreciate what it takes to properly paint a car - and, it gives you a new appreciation for the efforts involved every time you check out a shiny new paint job. What is that respirator set up you are using? Keep up the great work mate.

Thanks Alan! It's the 3m Papr versaflow painters kit. I did a short video on it a while back. Thanks for watching and the kind words!

Thank you for the information - I checked it out and and watched your video. The 3M PAPR is a little out of my budget at the moment and I am not painting enough to justify the expense... that being said, you only get one set of lungs so I'll put it on my wish list. I did take your recommendation on the primer gun as I was using the TCP gun you used to have and I hate it - I have ordered the Air Gunsa 3.0 mm and I am looking forward to using it - thank you.

Cheers Mike I am looking forward to it. I see your blast cabinet in the shop there - you may already know this but the Tacoma Company does a brilliant upgrade for these - night and day when you do a before and after comparison. And, they're in the Pacific North Wet so your neck of the woods - apologies if I am telling you something you already know.

Recently started as a painter helper at a restoration shop and the time it takes to sand every nook and cranny on the insides of bolted on panels and engine bays is absurd; but like you said it's all about the results

I believe your system as you call it, strip, epoxy seal, feather fill, filler, sand (touch up bare metal with epoxy) feather fill, smart I think. Now, I know you said you use slick sand and I will be watching the next video. But what did you wipe the panel from the yellow/white can? Between feather fill and slick sand is easier to sand? (Sorry, need metal elbow and left is on the edge / I have not screamed & hollered but the Dr. act like no one does elbows as two types) (Scary, as plate type limit of 2 lbs. and the inside all three bones, no info) It’s my problem but, I appreciate any info before I place an order. I will wait to save if a better product cost more, but easier to sand just a little. I thank you greatly for the little stuff others edit out! What ever it takes. I would bet you’re busy so answer when you can or want! Thanks again for all.

Finished blocking slick sand with 80 grit and have a few low spots......Not very many and not too big either. I was going to use Upol glaze for those spots. Then spray Feather fill and block 180, 320 and 400. What do you think? Thx for your educational videos!

How long have you been waiting before you applied your slick sand over your epoxy? I had a problem last week where I either applied the epoxy to thick and it didnt cure enough or I didnt wait long enough for it to cure before I applied the S.S, I waited 24hours. The first time I applied S.S over fresh epoxy I also waited 24 hours and it was no problem. But maybe since I was just spot priming this time I put it on to thick and needed another 24 hours to cure. The issue I had was once i sanded down close to the epoxy the S.S was still soft. So I had to sand all the areas off that had fresh epoxy and redo it. About a 20 hour mess up in total. Great work by the way brother

Hey Elqwan! I very rarely wait more than a couple hours to spray over the epoxy. I have had that issue that you are describing though. After a temper tantrum I noticed that I had used a urethane hardener for my clear coat rather than the epoxy catalyst!!! Not sure what is going on with your situation but it shouldn't take more than a few hours to be able to spray over it... Heck you only have 3 days to spray over it in the window anyway... Hope this helps. Let us know what you figure out.

I for sure used the correct hardener, still not sure why it happened. But this time I sprayed new epoxy and had to go out of town for a week so it had time to really cure. I just scuffed and shot over it. I sprayed the S.S today and will get to sanding either tomorrow or the next day. We will see if i have that problem again. I am just gun shy now to not wait long enough for the epoxy cure. But I am working on fenders this week so if i have to redo a fender because of this problem, at least its not as much material or panel size than a truck cab. I spoke to Evercoat last week and tech said they usually tell people to wait between 48-72 hours before applying. I am just going to spray epoxy and slick sand the following day on my fender and see what happens. Thanks for your response. Really like watching your videos buddy! Keep it up. its gonna look slick when its done.

Why all the filler " SPOTS"? IF I have let's say 10 spots to fill I just spread it across from start to finish block sanding it will leave it in the low spots and will remove it from the level "Spots"!
