Sometimes I wish that KZbin had a heart for viewers to click on so that we could express how much we love certain special videos. This is one of those times. Your story clearly demonstrates the power of manifesting your desires. You planted a seed way back when you were 15 by repeating an affirmation of "Someday", and through the years that seed grew and grew and grew into this beautiful flowering plant that will continue to give you beautiful blooms (memories). Good job, Nicole, good job.

"I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying!' 100% correct. Tears. So happy for you my friend! I was born in Nova Scotia and we had three acres up there (which wasn't much but our closest neighbors were over a mile away and we were right on the edge of a nature preserve so we really had the run of hundreds of acres). We spent the entire day outside, running through flower meadows and climbing trees and climbing "Fraggle Rock", a giant boulder covered in moss and mushrooms and catching tadpoles in ponds and streams. We moved to the US, and a suburban neighborhood when I was 6, and it wasn't really until now that I have a home on acreage again that I feel like I too, have come full circle.

So many big feelings. My parents live on an acre in MA. It was Granny's, now its Mom and Dads. I want to live my later years there too. We plant trees for special occasions. The house and property have a whole back story. Many changes since the 60's when they were able to buy the property. BTW that coat is really cute!

You had me welling up. 29 years ago, people asked if I would want to buy my maternal grandparents' house. (I was so close to my grandma.) My grandfather died days after I closed on this house. Of course I would LOVE to own the house where I have so many happy memories! But I also knew my family would be questioning any changes I'd make to the house. I'm pleased to know the woman who bought their house still lives there. She's only the second owner.

Nicole, I just finishing watching your story about your childhood farm, and it just warms my heart. Because of Covid 19 I found Garden Answers and Laura led me to you, and then to Sabrina and Ian. I really enjoy all you your crazies, makes me feel right at home. I have 6 kids, 5 daughters and my youngest is now looking into a flower farm because of you girls. I also have 21 grand kids and 8 greats, so i am not a spring chicken. Tomorrow will be my 72nd birthday and I must admit I have bought way too many flowers and bulbs for my small yard. I have 11 kinds of seeds planted in milk jugs and many more to plant. Also, I am a bee keeper for the last 12 years. 2 years ago lost my husband of 51 years. Keeping busy with flowers has kept me sane this past year. Keep up the good work and we will continue to enjoy you shows. Sally Pipkins

I have been inspired by you. I bought 12 acres this spring and finally realized I have to have a flower farm. Funny how we don't see the obvious ! My dad always won the nicest yard in the city. As a child I loved marigolds, the smell and the flower. I named my first kitten marigold . My mom was mentally I'll and gave my cat to a rescue while I was at school. I think my spirit has been broken due to my painful childhood. Maybe Marigold Flower Farm can heal my soul.

What a wonderful story! I can almost relate, though on a much smaller scaler… when I got married I left a beautiful and beloved city neighborhood to move to the suburbs. Though the burbs were a great place to raise the kids, it never felt like home. For years I have been saying that someday, I’d “go back home”. Well, last month, and 24 years later, the perfect house came on the market in that magical neighborhood near my childhood home. I took a huge leap of faith and put an offer on the house and they accepted! And then I spent one crazy week ( not quite 17 months) feverishly sprucing up my house to sell. I actually laid a vinyl floor and painted the back exterior of the house… and I’m 54 years old and no hubby. My house sold in a few days!! The new house has a yard big enough for me to create a garden oasis. Best of all, my teenager and two college age kids are moving with me!! Nothing has ever felt so right!

Thanks so much. I, too, live in my childhood home !! My husband and I bought it in our first year of marriage, expecting our first (of six) children. When I was young, my parents paid me to do the yard work and the mowing. The house and yard (filled with lilacs, peonies, tulips, daffodils and tons of Dame's Rocket!) were old when I was a kid, and obviously older when we bought it in the 80's, so it was fun to keep tending the same yard and home. "Kindred Cottage" continues to be a sweet and pretty place to work and live !! Thanks for your story.

I got all tearie-eyed! I'm 73 this month and I have always wanted property to grow things. In the late 70's my then-husband and I moved to No. Idaho from So Calif and bought 20 acres and started a log cabin. Long story short, we moved back to So Calif and eventually divorced, never having ever lived on that land. My dream was so close and it vaporized. I still haven't had more than a tract home lot but I grow veggies and flowers anyway. Only no chickens. boo. I still have my dream. Congrats on achieving your dream.
