We bought our lot in Belize ( Secret Beach) based on your videos . Our lot is a project as it does need some backfill which we were quoted $14K USD for but the size of the lot + again as developers mentioned in the video it was a no brainer. I’m excited about so many folks from the diaspora taking advantage of this opportunity & what this potentially means for our children & the next generation. This video was a bit different than your normal cinema style videos but it was a lot more tactical & strategic in my opinion of sharing what’s been happening behind the scenes. Man listen I’m truly excited for what God is doing in your life brother & how he’s using you to help so many others unlock financial freedom & be a trailblazer for many. Honored to say I’m a Passport Heavy supporter & have been now for nearly 4 years ( time flies ). Keep going 🥂

Hi! I’m excited to be here in your channel and I’m interested in learning more about investing and saving up for my retirement but am a little confused about the whole process. Any advice or tips to get me started up would be greatly appreciated.

Retirement is now more difficult than it was in the past. I've been saving for a long time instead of investing, and right now I only have about $400K. considering all the inflation, i'm thinking of investing in stocks, i dont just have idea on market strategies.
@wandemiles20 сағат бұрын
The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.

This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800k

As a Belizean-American, I'm so torn...on one hand, I am glad to see the investment in Belize. However, I also feel that this same investment is intensifying the plight of Belizeans being unable to afford their own country. More tourists owning land/property than the native people is not something I would like to see. Pricing the native people out of their own land or them not benefitting from this expansion/growth would be shameful. Hopefully, the government puts something in place to protect it's countrymen. If only they would take a page from places like Nigeria and Thailand.

Your a very honest, kind human being. I go to Mexico a lot and I see the same thing. We have to give people a universal LIVING WAGE . Everyone loves a place where they can get a great deal, until they realize those their dealing with aren’t getting a deal at all, it’s a robbery. A place is only as good as the people living there.
@luxurytravel7595 ай бұрын
That’s a dilemma, that’s happening all over the world really. The thing is Thailand and Indonesia and these places have so many of their own people driving the economy they don’t quite need foreign ownership. They do it by lease, however that is also the reason why many people, certainly not many wealthy westerners invest there, mostly mid class Russians and such. If all Carribean countries did this it would also turn the investors away and perhaps the country will never benefit from its economic growth. Also mostly expats want to invest in seaside lands or resorts, not on main lands and cities. More investors they get there more economy will grow, more stores will open, shipping, importing and exporting will become more affordable and just over quality of life will improve immensely. Locals will benefit from this greatly. If they don’t make it investor friendly for foreign investors what’s going to happen is that it will stay as poor and even worse really big corporations and big giant hotels will buy up those lands for the fraction of the cost and it still won’t be accessible to regular people, so I think letting foreigners invest in it is better, at least they are paying a lot for those lots there, ok, those mangrove lots where there is nothing on it is cheap but most of the lands there are expensive on the island. More residents you have actually living there versus just visiting is going to help the island grow, more shops, better services, better hospitals, more business opportunities. If you only have big hotels and only temporary visitors they’ll just come to stay on resorts and never leave to go out and put money in local businesses.

This is something that happens everywhere. All these immigrants who call themselves "expats" to pretend they are better than other people are pricing out the locals. But they always have the nerve to look down on immigrants in their own countries when they are also moving to other countries so they can have lifestyles they could only dream of in their own countries.

I anticipated receiving $2,500 in interest on my initial $50,000 when I created a high-yield savings account online with 5.12863% interest compounded everyday. Rather, I was only given $420. I asked, and was informed that the website did not make it obvious that the interest is computed daily. With the help of an expert, my partner suggested that I switch to stocks, and in just six months, I experienced almost 80% capital increase (discounting dividends). Extremely advisable!

Amazing, warm and kind souls. I have been on so many Caribbean islands and obviously all Caribbean islands are beautiful and some are well developed so it makes it more attractive, while Belize lacks that yet, its people and their welcoming spirit makes up for it and actually it’s the feeling, experiences and emotions that connect people with places not just nice buildings and high end shopping stores. 🙏🇧🇿

I'm American and first went to Belize in 2007 with the intention of investing, right as a lot of the development was kicking off. It's a beautiful country for sure, but at the same time it was heart breaking seeing the poverty and corruption of the gov, and how so much of the landscape was destroyed to make way for these large developments. Ultimately decided against making any purchases and instead have been working with different agencies and orgs that help victims of human trafficking and poverty. Sorry to be a downer, but it's hard seeing all this development going on where the only benefactors are my countrymen.

I understand the hype about Belize in watching all these videos. But there is something missing. I don’t get to see the people of Belize talking about these beautiful resorts or homes. For example we just see the tourist talking about buying land and future expensive lands at a fractional cost now. But can the locals afford to buy lots at this price? Is this just going to be another future Hawaii? Where the locals won’t be able to buy none of these lands because of pricing and then get pushed back into the mainland where the poverty is not shown in these videos. And then you’ll get the Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and the Mark Zuckerberg’s of the world buying most of the land, and not giving back to the community. I get it it’s beautiful. But why does that matter if it’s going to turn Belize into another tourist spot that all the prices go up and not even the people from Belize can enjoy it, making everything more expensive for them. So I guess this is going to be another Hawaii in five years? Because if it does, that means the people that are vacationing now won’t be able to afford vacationing in Belize five years from now with everything rising as expected. Just asking questions and sharing thoughts. Maybe I’m looking at it from the wrong angle. Please comment and give me your opinion.
@RoRo-nf1bq6 ай бұрын
I agree with your sentiments fully. 1/2 my family that lives there and has lived there all their lives, probably won't be able to afford to even visit the islands, let alone afford property there. The city is a whole different ball game. Like I said in my comment, I wish the government in Belize followed the lead of Nigeria, Thailand and the Philippines ( to name a few)...you can't own if your not a countryman!
@ignacioflores36916 ай бұрын
Absolutely correct! Been to Belize many times and seen all these hype videos of their team and people that are considering buying but no true locals. That’s because there’s absolutely no way the locals can purchase. Even though you see these people, regardless where in Belize it’s full of snowbirds. Canadians everywhere. I’m looking back into Mexico where huge projects are happening, the brand new Tren Maya which is bringing in 6-7 million tourists per year is set to explode the real estate market in its Route that covers five Mexican States. Beachfront virgin beach, white sand where lots cost right now $300,000. They even offering in house financing up to 15 years @2.99% with just 30% down. All done with a prestigious top law firm to guarantee our safety to know it’s legit. Also, average size lot measures 65 ft of beach frontage by 197 ft deep. Giving you a lot of you to build a beach house plus 3-5 beach cabins if you want as AirBnb’s. Best of luck to all finding your own piece of Paradise.

@PassportHeavy, I heard you mentioned in the video about minimum wages...you should do your research on what the minimum wage is in Belize. That $14k US you are paying to fill up your lot is what some belizeans makes as a yearly salary if they are lucky enough....minimum wage is $15-$16 US a day (8hours) work day...so when your at your high class resort in Belize enjoying the services and culture, just know that the locals providing you with that service is getting the smallest percentage of what you paid for the service.

Omg it’s so beautiful! How do I get started?? I’m ready to retire in a couple years and I’m looking to move to a beautiful island such as Belize. Never been so I would need to take a vacation and come there first. The video was so inspiring though. I had been looking at Jamaica first but this place seems more affordable. You guys are living the dream! I love it!

I anticipate the same thing that happens in the U.S. when it comes to real estate, the same thing will happen in Belize. I’m all about prosperity but when people can’t participate because they don’t have resources, it’s difficult to embrace. It would be extremely beneficial for everyone if the indigenous people could be taught how to invest in their own country. I look forward to visiting Belize soon because it sounds like in 5-10 years it won’t look the same.

Thanks for the insights, man! From a design/vibe perspective, definitely need to see more places like Habitat and less like Mahogany Bay. Canggu-style villas are where it's at.

In 2004 I visited Belize : Placencia and Kaye Cauker and there wasn’t many homes to rent. There were mostly hotels and a few Americans who bought and built their own homes there. It wasn’t developed much at all. Places were inexpensive back then. There wasn’t many tourists there besides a handful of Americans.

I love Black architects. I even had the pleasure of interviewing many members of NOMA (which I hope Stephen Wilder is a member of), including the great Zina Howard FAIA. Always great content. #loveyourchannel

I was just thinking the same thing! I didn’t finish my Architectural degree for a couple reasons, age because I started after a 25 year military career which had me feeling like an old man in the classroom, COVID hit in year two and I was feeling cheated sitting in front of my laptop and paying in person prices, and then my friend started a business and offered me an income that was probably a decade away as an Architect. But I still Love it, and love to see people of color in that space. I didn’t know about NOMA until after I dropped out. 😊
