Who else thinks Adam would be close to scratch if he played the same course each time? I'm always really impressed at your ability to play these tough courses all over the place and get (mostly) really good scores Adam! Obviously you should not play the same course each time but my point stands - you're very good.

I worked on building the kitchen bar and all of the hideout interior this early summer and golfed my brains out while I stayed on site. I learned quickly that a 220 club off the tee is my best friend and only required me to hit 3 drivers on par 4s (unless 5 was into wind) and thus imo making this course play much easier than the slope rating and plummeting my hdcp. Looks like the greens are running much faster than when I was up there!

What a great round! I am curious, what is you index these days?
@felipz243 ай бұрын
Love the channel! Question for you: you said the prior day you had a "pick up triple", I know for handicap purposes you max out at a triple bogey, but do you only count the triple when you calculate your actual score for the round? In PGA tournament, for example, all your strokes count and if you get an 8 on a hole then that counts as 8 strokes.
@NotAScratchGolfer3 ай бұрын
Thanks! When playing in a tournament, you card your gross score, even if it's a 12 on a hole. When inputting scores into the computer for handicapping purposes, anything greater than "net double" gets recorded as such. For example, if your course handicap is 5, on stroke holes 1-5 you can take a triple (i.e. net double). On stroke holes 6-18, the max you can take is double. If this is all too much math, you can just put your hole-by-hole score into the computer and it will adjust automatically. In practice, for the sake of pace of play (and mental sanity), it's common to just pick up your ball if you've reached your max allowable score for handicapping purposes.
