On the control board, there should be an extra slot for the ribbon cable. Try moving the connection over.

I have the same miner and there is not an option to shutdown on the dashboard, at least I didn't saw it, just reboot so how can we shut it down? Also my X16Q arrived faulty when was new and did the same behaviour, faulty light every time, so after diagnosing with a Jasminer technitian it was the cable that links the control board with the hashing board that was defective. Jasminer sent one to me and everything was fixed, I don't think it may be your case but just telling my experience.

when i need to power down my asic miners I pull the ethernet plug for about a half hour until the hot air is cold then power down the miner.

Good PSA Seb. Interesting to point out I ran barely profitable Antminers on a timer. They were abruptly turned on and off every single day by a timer for a year. They had no problems. This suggests the Jasminers have a poorly designed power supply or power stage on the control board. Could be something as simple as a blown fuse, NTC thyristor, or diode. I'd start by measuring voltages to make sure the right ones are being generated in the power supply. A decent quality DMM can test components for you but it can be tricky and require a lot of your time. Do preliminary checks and if it's not simple, might be faster to get a new control board (and as we miners all know, in crypto time is money.)

I went looking around the X16-Q gui and I couldn't find any way to "shutdown" the miner. I have been turning mine on/off daily due to heat buildup doing it the same way you have been. I have not had any failures yet, but now im wondering what is the "proper" way to shutdown the X16-Q. Have you found a way for the X16-Q to be properly shutdown? Is there someplace in the GUI? The Miner->Work Mode menu doesn't have a sleep option, and they only have a reboot option on the main miner menu.
@SebsFinTechChannel4 ай бұрын
Oh interesting. I really thought there was a "sleep mode" like on most ASICs. Maybe it's not my fault that the miner broke then and I just got extremely unlucky?

@@SebsFinTechChannel If you find a way, I would really appreciate knowing it. Im cycling power on my X16-q's all summer. I live in the Arizona Desert which sits between 110F and 120F for parts of June, all of July, Aug and parts of Sept. I can't run them 24/7 due to the heat. These are designed to just be turned off on the back power button which basically jus cuts the power same as you did. I thin it's just a coincidence that you think it was you cutting the power that bricked it? Sad though, hope you can get it fixed. Have you tried powering it with a standard ATX power supply? Be worth a try just 6 pin connectors all round.

check the power supply, if every power lane is there, looks for me like the mining cards get power but the control board not or the other way PS i dont think thats ur fault! because what if there would be a power outage??? would this break the same way? i would say the fault is on ur side if u would do a update and switch off exactly than. but not if u only switch off the power!

When my X16 arrived, it mined exactly once and then no more. After a lot of troubleshooting, it turned out that one of the current-carrying screws had come loose and the hashboard was no longer connected to the PSU. The power connection to the PSU is not so obvious because of the metal brackets. Check this screw, maybe you have the same problem.
