The day the AL0 dropped, 400ghs at 100 watts at 12 cent pkw would net 30 dollars a day, a week later it will earn 17.17 a day. Once these start shipping AND Goldshell sending out extra AL boxes and Bitmain dropping theirs out...I predict it will make 10 a day when i get it in hand. I predict it will make 5 a day by Mid September. Hopefully Alephium follows the price / demand trends of KAS and the profitability will stay up for a while. Nerdy numbers

I Ordered an IceRiver AL0 on drop day. Honestly, if i were a normal, non-degenerate KZbin miner, i dont know that i would even recommend it at the price since Bitmain going to drop the big boys around the same time. The AL race is on people.

The AL0 and AL1 have similar efficiency and similar $/Gh, so either one is fine as long as you can afford it. The only real difference is density and ability to run on 110v. The AL1 is basically the same as about 30 or so AL0's

The problem(s) for me for any Asic miners is the profitability tanks really hard as more people gets involved and gets exposure to whatever asics that's currently making profit. For example, some Asic can make $50/day initially, but as soon as ~200 people runs the same miner, that profitability goes down to $1.5-2 (This is just an arbitrary number example). The other thing is that Asic miner can become useless and its value goes down really fast; it's not like GPU where it retain a constant value that you can find readily available even now. And not to mention the shipping is also a problem and unless you're well connected, get sponsored and gets the item fast, you get the risk of losing on that sweet sweet early profits and therefore, there are some, if not many that never ROI.

While "GPU mining is dead" I'm looking to build a small 4 card setup to spec mine. If you had to start from zero on your gpu rig can you tell me what kinda cards, MB etc you would get? Hey friends thanks for checking out the video. There are 2 tiny editing mistakes I just noticed: 1. In the CoinMiningCentral ad it shows the KA BOX instead of the AL0 2. The screen recording is slightly out of sync with my face cam in the last minute or so of the video. Nothing major but it's going to bug me if I don't say something lol.

Seb, following on from my comment 12 days ago. So the hashrate has risen over 150PH/s in just over a week, the growth is exponential, my math (taking into account Mara and other major miners going online) looks like a conservative figure of 1 Exahash by the end of August ? What do you think ?

When you think about the Time of 1 year and calculate, than buying the coin gives you 1 year the Chance of selling for the price you want. Thats another big Difference of mining and get small amounts and mostly a rising difficulty with less coming coins. And that ignores the possibility of staking.....

You need another row (or more) in your patented SebSheet :) Some of the ASIC makers like Iceriver report the top end of a hashrate and specify you could get -10% actual hashrate. If you lose the silicon lottery and get 10% less hashrate it could completely invalidate your analysis and no, there are no refunds because the possibility of getting a dud is clearly written on their website! Buyer beware and all that :)

In the end you said one should always power the riser from the same source. In my case, I didn't plan to use a riser, I want to install 2 GPUs on the same mainboard and power one of them off a second PSU. In this case I can't power the PCIe slot from the second PSU. Would this be an issue?

Do you think that you could sell older KASPA miners? Its like every year soon you need to make room for new ones.. if not holding them in facility somewhere China. Its quite good if you live in apartment, but still. ASIC miners are not that you can sale easely stuff. They are for recycling... I sold my next 3070 and bougt KASPA instead, i cant afford to complete with yearly halvings and buying new miners so often.
