Thanks a lot for sharing. Had the same realisation myself. At some point you just have to hone down on the one thing that actually grows your business. Prospecting, sales, marketing, managing the team and communicating with clients whilst delegating all the tasks that retract your focus from growing your business.

I agree 100%. Attention focused everywhere is attention focused nowhere. Business when you get to the technical level is just leveraging your own skills, as well as having the ability to find other people's skills to leverage. Task delegation is a skill in itself!

I think contracting work to a developer makes the most sense. Find someone who can act as a strategic partner but not a business partner. You are just basically referring them projects!

Thanks for asking! By full scale automation i mean building out automations aside from chatbots. It doesn't necessarily pertain to just one thing, but to automate some of their business process is what I mean by that... i hope it helps!

How about for someone who’s a developer with a CS degree, like me, who writes software everyday and understands basic machine learning architecture. I’m 23 and currently and have been working on my web design agency - at what point should I pivot and what’s the best way to do so? Or should I offer both services as a package? Basically, wouldn’t it be higher leverage if create the deliverables myself and eventually run a team of developers who I can delegate to? I see massive potential to creating your own software team in-house as opposed to contracting it out. Plus, hiring developers don’t have a vested interest in your business unless they’re a principal, not an agent. So I think there’s massive value in either confounding an agency with a technical person who can be the tech lead or starting an agency solo if you can handle the technology yourself.

I love your take on this. Eventually have a team of devs create your deliverables is the way to go, however if you have the skills already, it is best to just create them yourself. I personally am not an expert at development yet, hence why I'm just working with developers instead!

@@Ka0sProductions25 Im going to be trying it all but probably cold calling... Some of my connections in the space have seen lots of success from it! Also working on bumping out content on YT to also bring in leads as well (that is my long term vision)

​@@BrockMesarich Okay, well thats good! Cold calling is actually not that bad once you get the hang of it. You just have to stay in control of the conversation and not be too pushy. My tip of advice for a cold call rebuttal is to build value on what their business could benefit from if they had this, versus without it. But your KZbin is great, it will definitely be a good funnel for organic leads once the channel grows and reaches more audiences. My question to you is, how are you going to find leads to contact? Are you going to pay someone to scrape leads for you, or are you planning on just looking online through facebook or google and finding their information that way?

Just never had to hire a developper in the past, so kind of scary, but I am good with computers and know how it works and what's doable or not (for when speaking to the customers) as I see myself more on the "marketing/sales" side of this business, kinda like you are doing.

@@benjaminc.1785 My advice is hire them and just do a 50/50 split to start with the projects they deliver on. That way you can see what they are capable of and they get paid very well. From there you can just build upon that!
