Hello! It's really nice from you, sharing your thoughts and experience about this. Same as you, I been wondering and questioning what wrong is in me, why I seem so shy etc.. As introvert is better to not force to be an extrovert, because there are a lot of beneficial things. Even from outside it seems like a weird person. Anyways I really enjoy your content! Have a good week!

Thank you!! You are absolutely right that we should not force ourselves to be extroverts. At the end of the day, we all have weaknesses and strength, and how we turn what seems to be weakness into strength is totally up to us😊

I've been always an introvert since elementary school. Now I'm okay with that. But when I was a child, it was harder. Most of the time, if you're not a friend, you're an enemy for groups of kids. I'm fine now that I don't have to be with other people due to school or high school :) Now I only meet the few people I do feel comfortable with.

Thank you for your comment! Yes, I think it’s harder when you are a kid or growing up as an adolescent, trying to understand and be comfortable with who you are. Being able to choose who you surround yourself with definitely helps😊

Thank you for your share your thoughts about the introvert. I am a very introvert personality and went to the US to study at a grad school and worked in New York. Until I met a book by Susan Cain, I completely did not know why I loved to stay at home Friday night rather than joining in the friend's party, while many New Yorkers loved to hang out, dine or drink out with their friends. However, from her book, I understood the introvert itself, a difference between them and so on. The recent work space has been going toward open rather than closed (no more cubicle!!), which has been making it harder for introverts to work in the office. I'd appreciate if the working environment was a little more flexible.....

Thank you for sharing your story! I also once stayed in NY for a month for company training and I know how it’s all about the social scene in NY. Restaurants and bars are always full of people even on weekdays and it does get a bit too much for people who prefer quiet environment... Yes, I think Susan Cain’s book was almost like a shock to a lot of Americans because over there being an extrovert was the norm and being an introvert meant you were an outlier. In terms of working environment, I quit working for a company to be a freelance, and the main reason was I just find it painful to be surrounded by people entire day 5 days a week. Hope you find working environment that works for you...!
I know how you feel. You may be interested in research done by Elaine Aron - she has many books, one being "The Highly Sensitive Person', and there is also one of her lectures on KZbin. :)
