This is brilliant! I am super inspired by your video and also still a novice with Notion. Thanks for giving us such a detailed insider look at what you've created. I look forward to viewing more of your videos!

I'm happy to hear that it inspired you. I have a Notion Playlist here on KZbin that has a few other videos. Also, I will be sharing more Notion videos in 2024...stay tuned.

Hi, Julie. I was surprised to find that you have no comments after posting your video 2 months ago. Perhaps other people had the same difficulty following it. In the interest of helping, I offer the following describing my experience. As an Evernote user of 10 years, I wanted to see how Notion works to determine if if there was some feature I may want to apply to how I use Evernote. Candidly, I found it hard to follow your video. In general, I couldn't grasp the basis for the structure of your information. To some degree, I think we have a difference in terminology. What you call "databases", I and (I think) most other people and systems I am familiar with call them "folders" or "notebooks". - - - When looking at your "Through the Golden Door" screen, you called the items "databases". They look like "data elements" to me. - - - Also, you referred to some of the "databases" as "relational databases". I would be very surprised to find that Notion supported "relational databases", but if it does, I'd probably would be interested in investigating it some more. I probably could have followed it more if I had already watched a tutorial video on the basics of Notion. That's what I'll try now.

Hi Jim, sorry you didn’t find this video helpful. It was more of a behind-the-scenes rather than a tutorial, and more of a lesson in getting genealogists the catalog educational materials…I coose to do that with Notion, but prior to that, I used OneNote. It is a somewhat complicated tool, but when you use it to basically build your own system, the power is in using relational databases because you can do so much with them. Again, this wasn’t a tutorial, and the purpose wasn’t to highlight Notion, so my apologies that it wasn’t what you were looking for. I’d recommend Thomas Frank and Red Gregory, both on KZbin, for better explanations , demos, tutorials, etc. on Notion. All the best, Julie.
