I used to follow Chef Korren(sp check lol). Her recipes were amazing but so darn involved. Back then I did not have the time but loved watching her. Chefs that become vegans are the real MVPs of vegan cooking sometimes lol like Gaz Oakley too. So glad I found you!

The tip at 8:57 would’ve saved me a lot of heartache in 2020. I tried to made seitan Jackfruit ribs but mad them too thick and it really affected the texture. The were still good but I was crushed that they were supper chewy.

Why do you call it gluten? Is it full of gluten?
@tracylaramore73163 жыл бұрын
.vital wheat gluten is used to make vegan meat. It's also known as seitan.
@myishacherry7242 Жыл бұрын
Gluten is the protein part of wheat; and what makes Seitan have a meaty type texture. Back in the day, you had to do a method of washing the starch out of regular flour to be left with just the gluten to make seitan which is how I grew up watching my mother make it. Now, instant vital wheat gluten flour is available which is the isolated protein only. Alot of us instead of saying seitan woukd just say "gluten chops" " gluten roast " etc lol

I hope tha brown sugar was organic brown sugar. Regular white sugar, not organic, is just regular white sugar with the molasses left in it, and regular white sugar gets the white color from cattle bones that is why vegans do not consume regular white sugar.
